Just a thought:

To Islanders: Gabriel Landeskog

To Avalanche: Calvin de Haan, Michael Dal Colle, Nikolay Kulemin (50% retained), Carter Verhaeghe, and a 2017 3rd

Let me start off by saying that I don't think the Avs will trade Landeskog, but if he's actually available, I think this is a decent offer, I'm just speculating.

Avs get a very good defensive defenseman in de Haan (I love the kid, really don't want to move him, but it's necessary), he's a Left Handed shot as well, a need of the Avs. Kulemin and de Haan will greatly help not only the overall defense of the team, but also the Penalty Kill. Avs really need help in that department and those two really bring it. Kulemin will still contribute on offense, but I'm unsure, he's a wildcard. If anything, he turns into Expansion Draft bait. Dal Colle is a legit prospect, in my eyes he's NHL ready, he's got the body and shot that you want in a Power Forward (Possibly taking Landeskog's spot, obviously not as a leader though) . Verhaeghe and the 3rd are just gravy.

Isles, of course, get that Winger that they desperately need in Landeskog. Even with the addition of Ladd, they still need to do something like this.

My take on this, put a lot of thought into it. If the Avs want to move him (Don't know why they would) this is what I'd do. PS: I really, really like de Haan.

To St. Louis: Burakovsky, Orlov, 2015 1st

To Washington: Oshie, Gunnarsson

1.) 23 Jun 2015 00:16:14
No from caps

2.) 23 Jun 2015 01:01:33
No from Caps.

3.) 23 Jun 2015 03:37:35
YES PLEASE, & laughing all of the way to the bank!!

4.) 23 Jun 2015 04:25:53
1) not giving up burakovsky or kuznetsov or bowey, try a different prospect
2) I'd rather have orlov than gunnarsson
3) if we gave up a first it probably wouldn't be from this year

5.) 23 Jun 2015 15:19:09
Not interested in Oshie. Especially not at anywhere near that cost.

6.) 23 Jun 2015 22:28:14
Good cause oshie is a 1st rnd pick and an A to B prospect don't like don't shop. There are a lot of other teams that want his skills with his cap friendly contract.

7.) 26 Jun 2015 17:12:59
Great let one of them overpay for him. The Caps are not interested in Oshie for 22OA++, what a joke!!

To Rangers:
Alex Tanguay and a 4th round pick

To Avalance:
Marc Staal

Avs would benefit so much from adding a top 4 defenseman. They're not far out from the playoffs and the season is still young. If they're lucky, they could convince Staal to sign an extension. Rangers would benefit from adding a winger who can score from anywhere. He's under contract through next season. He'd help the Rangers PP, which is ranked 21st in the league currently, in my opinion. Rangers would most likely lose out on signing Staal in free agency, so why not bring in someone who will help the team right now and next year. Rangers would still have a good Top 4 without Staal and the Avs should be able to replace Tanguay like they did last year when he got hurt.

IslesBlowButILoveEm

1.) 100% agree, this trade is very believable! Let's trade a top 2 defenceman(final year of contract), for a bottom 6 fwd and a 4th round pick! Logic is undeniable!

2.) Staal is not a top two dman, he would be on the Avs, but that's because they don't have dmen. Tanguay is playing top line right now, so idk what you're talking about.

3.) 30 Nov 2014 05:45:19
NYR are in a win now mode with Marty on the squad. Expect to lose Staal to Carolina in free agency

4.) Stall would play top 2 on just about 1 half to 1 third of the leagues top 4. As for Alex tanguay, he is 35 and has shown he can be productive but I don't see him fulfilling any Rangers need whatsoever. The Rangers could fetch significantly more at the deadline worst comes to worst.

5.) Staal would play top two on much teams in the League.

6.) Where would Tanguay fit into our line? Not on the 1st line(he's not better than Stepan, Nash, or St. Louis), probably not on the 2nd line(IMO he's not better than Kreids, Zuccs, or Brass) he would probably only be a 3rd liner anyway which we don't need right now.

To Columbus:
Cory Conacher and Matt Donovan

To Islanders:
5th round pick

Blue Jackets could use some depth due to their injury problems. Isles clear some roster spots for Grabner's return.

IslesBlowButILoveEm

1.) I agree. as a NYI fan, I think that would work. what do you think in adding Strait rather than Donovan? Strait probably has more value (not buch) but has played half the year and Donovan hasn't played since pre-season.

2.) Seeing as Cappy hates on young guys and pretty much refused to play Donovan, I think he's more likely to go. Plus Cappy and Snow love Strait, for some ungodly reason

3.) Not sure CBJ would want Conacher, he is a fringe NHL player at best and they can easily play some younger guys from the AHL and get better results.

Donovan is not going to play in NY, but he does have some upside. I would hope snow can get at least a 3rd for him. Would not surprise me to see him play well somewhere else.

As for Strait, just cut him. He is lost on the ice every time he is out there. The team would be better served to have Mayfield or Czuchman as the 7th d-man right now.

4.) Scott Hartnell to Islanders for Donovan, McDonald, Ness and Conacher

5.) @IslesFan94 and how does this help CBJ?

To Senators: Josh Bailey and 1 of these 3 Matt Martin/Mike Halmo/4th round pick

To Islanders: Marc Methot

I just want a god damn defenseman and the Sens have 8 of them. Contract negotiations aren't going well between the sens and Methot, so why not trade him to the isles and get a couple of forwards. Sens get a foward or two, Bailey will get you 30+ points a season and will contribute on the PK. Isles get a D man who doesn't ride the short bus. Seems fair to me, but idk.

IslesBlowButILoveEm

1.) Ottawa can get more for Methot.

2.) The way this reads is classic. I like the trade, but the terminology used is excellent lol

3.) Lol, thank you. And to Oils2014, what more could the sens get for a guy with one year left on his contract and most teams know that it seems like he's walking after this year if he doesn't get his $5 mil a year deal, and Ottawa doesn't wanna give him that. The isles on the other hand would love to over pay him because they can

Whelp, Garth Snow put on his big boy pants for the first time in his GM career this offseason. With that said, what are your opinions on my opening day roster for the Islanders:
(Barring any injuries)

Nelson-Tavares-Okposo
Conacher-Grabovski-Kulemin
Lee-Nielson-Strome
Bailey-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Grabner-Martin

Leddy-Hamonic
de Haan-Boychuk
Visnovsky-Rienhart
Hickey

Halak
Johnson

I think Bailey and Grabner can alternate for the 4th line LW. I think Snow did a great job today and really all offseason, I like both trades, with the bunch of prospects the isles have, I have no problem trading some draft picks, Brennen, garbage can Nilsson, and Pokka. Do to the abundance of prospect dmen, trading Pokka seemed like the right choice, as he wouldn't find himself on the Islanders in the near future unless there was an injury, but that doesn't take away from his talent. Chicago got a very solid defensive prospect who has the potential of a top 4 dman.

the isles improved quite significantly this year actualy, however, I don't think its enough to make it into the playoffs. but enough to avoid giving BUF a top 5 or probably even a top 10 pick in that vanek deal.

2.) Trading for Vanek and Boyle's rights weren't "big boy pants" moves? Snow has done nothing but make big moves lately. The Vanek move was HORRIBLE and the Boyle move blew up in his face, but they were still big. He might have actually made decent moves this time tho. Boychuk might be tempted to sign and Leddy is an RFA so that one is lower risk. Good moves, IMO, even if it does leave the Isles without a 1st or 2nd round pick in the 2015 draft. He's trying to elevate his team to keep that 1st round pick from being a top-10. Great trades.

Don't get me wrong, he should have been fired two years ago.

3.) Big ups to Garth. The team is much improved. Still think they are a bubble team, but one that is more likely to get in.

I think Leddy and Boychuk are products of their previous team's overall success, which is not to say they aren't good (they are) but if the expectation is that they will step in and make this team a cup contender, you're going to be disappointed.

The Rangers trade is one of the worst I've seen.

Lol. Nelson or Lee would be top line LW. Just because they have great prospects, doesn't mean they have to trade them. If they wanted Cammy, they would've signed him last year. Ho Sang has incredible talent. I don't have a doubt in my mind that he'll learn his lesson. He's worth much more than that.

I'm pretty sure the Sharks just want to start fresh and wanna dump their big contracts, not trade their future for a giant contract

That's true, but the chances that Grabner's injuries will return are pretty high, knowing that, I doubt the Devils would give up a promising backup and come away empty handed, they'll want something else
