So a CBC reporter says he overheard a Montreal scout saying that Wyane Simmonds is going to Montreal, most people say Beaulieu and ghetto are going back, this is highly unlikely to be the return, they flyers would be asking for more since Simmonds is the best value contract for the Flyers, I highly doubt this will happen but something interesting for us to speculate on. Let's here your thoughts about this.

I don't think flyers are trading Simmonds. If flyers trade anyone it would be Brayden schenn I have a feeling Montreal and Flyers talked about Brayden schenn.

The reason Calgary does this is they need to shed some cap to resign Gaudreau Monny and Others.
Losing Wiedman won't hurt to bad since he's a top 4 d man and Calgary has many. Losing Stajan will hurt bad, a good 3/4 line centre and his leadership. But Calgary gets a replacement d man and forward.
Colorado does this because they need to compete in the central division and Wiedman will help them as well as Stajan.

Helps Arizona with smith being out for 8+ weeks, this only happens because Arizona is in a playoff spot if they were in a Toronto situation they would just role with Lindback and Domonigue.

He was on waivers and didn't get picked up (as I discussed in the NHL Talk forum), and I sorta see what yep is talking about too, but it wouldn't surprise me terribly if ARZ does end up waving a flag at ANA if Lindback falls flat. They're taking a risk that I don't really agree with given their position in the standings, but we'll see what happens. Not the worst trade proposal but given ANA's dire straits they may want a player for Khudobin just to mix things up in their lineup. Likely a bottom-6er and a late pick.

Honestly, that may be why Nikitin was called up. Apparently some teams have been sniffing around about him and even if they were to trade, it would likely involve a less than ideal cap hit coming back so maybe the Oilers just wanna cast a line and see if someone will pick up he and his cap hit for nothing instead. He's been playing really well in the AHL apparently so his stock probably rose a bit. Could see him being a 7th D for a playoff-bound team.
