TOR: JVR, Carrick, 2nd
NYI: Barzal, Dal Colle, Pulock, Kulemin, Grabovski
This will give the Leafs a solid C prospect, under performing LW prospect, a potential top 4 Dman and absorb nearly 10M in Salary for the Isles.
Isles get a stud LW, serviceable Dman, and a pick. This also frees up enough cap space for them to trade for Eberle.

Yeah you trade some cap away with grab and kule but you lose 3 top prospects and mainly your replacement dman for Hamonic if that's who you trade for eberle. I think you get one of eberle or jvr and there's the benefits of both.

The Leafs are looking at two Swedes over in Paris. Provided they are NHL ready, they may make a solid 3rd pair (can't be worse than Polak & Hunwick).
The 2nd pairing can be filled via UFA, Dermott, Nielsen, etc.

Tbh gardiner had a great playoffs, and I just don't see why leafs are adding a first for trouba? What is all the hype with trouba like I don't understand. No from leafs here.

Gardiner is a mediocre defenceman.
