Oilers: RNH 2nd round pick
Sens: Hoffman 3rd round pick

Oilers get speedy scoring winger for McD. Ottawa gets 2nd center. Little move up for ottawa in pick because of $ difference and oiler desperation.

Value wise. I would do that 100% . but man does he ever have some great chemistry with Duchene.

2.) 19 Feb 2018 04:36:54
I like Hoffman and wouldn't do that. Our center depth is pretty deep (Duchene, Pageau, White, Brassard, Brown) so why trade your best winger for another center.

3.) 19 Feb 2018 04:40:14
Value wise I think one for one, and so does TSN so I mean got to listen to what they think for value.

4.) 19 Feb 2018 05:17:36
I really don’t know why Ottawa would trade Hoffman. Keep Hoffman, Stone, Duchene and Brassard IMO and go from there. Try and get rid of Ryan, Smith and Burrows for any picks you can get.

5.) 19 Feb 2018 16:30:29
I was kinda thinking the same thing Leafs17. I really don't know about his salary ect. but, he seems like a peice you would want to keep going forward.
However the players you did say should go, I agree as Well, just going to be really hard to move.
This is a team that was only 1 goal away from the finals last year,
Unless Dorion gets a really good, blow yoir mind offer for Hoffman, I'd keep him.

6.) 19 Feb 2018 23:02:17
You’re right Sosa. I have no idea the value of these players because of their contracts. However, if you can get a few picks, gain some salary and keep the core together, it’s a start.

Brassard has 1 more year at 5 mill cap charge (only 1m in actual dough tho)
Hoffman 2 more years 5.1875 cap charge (5.65 per in actual)
Duchene 1 more year 6m cap (6.5 actual)
Stone 3.5 cap RFA at seasons end

Bobby ryan 4 more years at 7.25 cap charge (7.5 per year in actual money)
Burrows 1 more year at 2.5
Smith 3 more years at 3.25 per.

To me it would seem ottawas area of strength would be up the middle, weaknesses everywhere else. but i find dorion alittle unpredictable ever since leaving methot unprotected.

Ott: Karlsson
Phoenix: Domi, 1st 2018, 1st 2019.

Ottawa want more.

2.) 11 Feb 2018 04:54:19
SEAy more.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 06:02:05
If Karlsson isn't signed come the deadline, then yes, if he is, double that offer.

4.) 11 Feb 2018 09:12:14
That pick could be Dahlin. I think For the state Phoenix is in they would rather Dahlin than Karlsson probably. 10 year age gap. They aren't Karlsson away from winning. Need dahlin, another few young pieces and more time. Lol.

5.) 11 Feb 2018 14:53:03
I agree with yup. Quite a few trades on here have arizona giving picks for players. Don’t see how that makes sense, especially with that 1st this year.

6.) 11 Feb 2018 16:51:41
Ott: EK65, White, Ceci, Brassard
for
ARI: Ekman-Larson, Domi, 2018 1st.

7.) 11 Feb 2018 18:09:47
Mustafarr, the soonest possible date that ottawa can offer an extension to karlsson is july 1. Getting an extension "by the deadline" isn't possible.

8.) 11 Feb 2018 18:10:19
Unless you mean deadline 2019.

Sens need to get rid of Dion and Ryan. Any ideas? Probably have to give up maybe a roster player and $s. don't want to give up youth. IDK.

1.) 07 Feb 2018 18:25:00
If you wanna get rid of either of them most teams are probably going to ask you for White or Brown in return.

2.) 07 Feb 2018 21:18:41
Bobby ryan + 2 prospects in exchange for 4 cap dumps (at a total cap charge close to the amount bobby makes, with less term on all 4) + a 2nd round pick

Just throwing out the idea, i basically looked back on the phaneuf trade when ottawa got him. Maybe ottawa can trade their way out of the ryan contract in a similar fashion? In any case the sens will have to be creative if trading him is what they want.
As for phaneuf, his contract goes down towards the final years and is an affordable buy-out if need be. Because of this i would imagine it would be easier to find a trade partner for phaneuf than it would be ryan, but this is all just my opinion on the matter.

Ott: 2nd and 3rd round pics
Pit: J. G. and Dion

Pit gets cheap 3rd line centre for next 3 years but swallows Dions contract.

Cap hit makes it impossible.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 02:38:53
Lol this is dumb sorry. No from Pitt. If there was a trade for just JG maybe but not this.

3.) 02 Feb 2018 04:26:58
Yes and yes from Pitt.

4.) 02 Feb 2018 05:22:04
Lol. Pitts says no
Take out Phanuef and maybe.

5.) 03 Feb 2018 10:12:37
Cap hit doesn't make anything impossible. If spezza can find a trade destination like he did from ottawa to Dallas without retention and more term and dollars on his contract than Pheneuf has now then there is no reason they can't do the same with Phaneuf. get over it people!
