Flames -
• (RW) Troy Brouwer
• (2019) 2nd-Round Pick
• Rights to (D) Brett Kulak
Coyotes -
• (2019) 4th-Round Pick

Calgary relieves cap and Arizona gets a 2nd round pick, a decent top 6/7 defencemen and a veteran RW.

What package would you take if you're ottawa?

Franchaise Billy

1.) 08 Jul 2018 04:59:38
The Dallas one.

2.) 08 Jul 2018 08:46:05
The package TB sends is definitely better than the DAL one. Which is the reason TB sure won't send both Sergachev AND Foote.

3.) 08 Jul 2018 11:36:28
One of those offers is not like the others haha

You cheer for Edmonton by any chance?

4.) 08 Jul 2018 15:12:42
Idk triplets I think heskinenen has the ability to be much better then sergachev or foote plus dallas doesn't take back a bad contract like the other deals and I feel there is a better chance of there 1st being a bit higher then tampa.

5.) 08 Jul 2018 15:40:46
None of those teams accept besides Edmonton and Calargry.

07 Jul 2018 03:18:30
LA Kings:
• Jordan Subban
Nashville Predators:
• 2019 4th-Round Pick

Vegas Golden Knights:
• Malcom Subban
Nashville Predators:
• 2019 2nd-Round Pick

Maybe J Subban can find chemistry with his brother PK and they could bring the brothers together.

Franchaise Billy

1.) 07 Jul 2018 05:14:37
You know that Jordan Subban is a leaf, not an LA King, right?

2.) 07 Jul 2018 05:28:16
Doesn't toronto own jordan subbans rights?

3.) 07 Jul 2018 05:33:09
Ummmm sorry to break the news to you bud but LA didn’t qualify Jordan Subban and he signed with the leafs.

4.) 07 Jul 2018 06:54:22
I thought he was still a king i'm sorry would TO do that

5.) 07 Jul 2018 10:22:26
J subban signed with Toronto last week.

6.) 07 Jul 2018 15:38:51
I don’t think leafs signed him to flip him into a 4th. If he goes through camp, doesn’t make the team or doesn’t show he could help the team in an emergency, I’m sure they would be happy to get a pick and move on. But they signed him as an option for the most needed position. I’m sure they want to atleast see him through a camp first. Also he was a UFA who signed for league minimum a week ago. If there was ANY mutual interest between him and Nashville they would already have him.

7.) 07 Jul 2018 22:27:34
Lol. like 20 people telling him Jordan Subban is now on the leafs. I think he gets it. Simple mistake.

8.) 08 Jul 2018 05:37:55
Yeah 2707 you do realize all those post were probably made over the course of a couple hours and they were added probably at the same time.

9.) 08 Jul 2018 07:59:12
Yeah, when I wrote it no one else’s had showed up, probably the same for everyone else.

06 Jul 2018 10:52:27
Erik Karlsson + Jean Pageau for Kailer Yamamoto + Ryan Nugent-Hopkins + Oscar Klefbom

Franchaise Billy

1.) 06 Jul 2018 17:25:55
LOL the fact you even added Pageau.

05 Jul 2018 18:02:13
Sources are confident that Karlsson is going to TB, yikes! The Golden State Lightning i guess but they have cap troubles as well.

• (C) Brayden Point
• (D) Mikhail Sergachev
• (C) Tyler Johnson
• (D) Erik Karlsson

• (RW) Ryan Callahan
• (2019) 1st-Round Pick
• (2019) 6th-Round Pick

• (D) Braydon Coburn
• (2019) 7th-Round Pick

TB Lightning free up 14,500,000M in cap space but also already have 4.45M.

TB gains 18,950,000M to resign Karlsson at probably 11M x 7YR (same as Doughty) and also make more signings.

Tampa Signs - Anthony Duclair (1.75M x 2YR), Kris Versteeg (1.5M x 1YR)

Alex Killorn - Steven Stamkos - Nikita Kucherov
Ondrej Palat - Carter Verhaeghe - Anthony Duclair
JT Miller - Anthony Cirelli - Kris Versteeg
Cedric Paquette - Andy Andreoff - Yanni Gourde

Victor Hedman - Erik Karlsson
Ryan McDonaugh - Dan Girardi
Andrej Sustr - Anton Stralman

Franchaise Billy

1.) 05 Jul 2018 18:21:43
What about kucherov next year?

2.) 05 Jul 2018 18:23:55
Team looks worse IMO. Be smarter for them to keep Point over Karlsson.

3.) 05 Jul 2018 18:33:44
It’d be Point for Karlsson+.

4.) 05 Jul 2018 18:23:55
Team looks worse IMO. Be smarter for them to keep Point over Karlsson.

5.) 05 Jul 2018 18:33:44
It’d be Point for Karlsson+.

6.) 05 Jul 2018 20:08:28
Under no circumstances will Point and Sergachev both be traded for Karlsson. If I am wrong I will happily eat crow afterwards, but he's just not worth both of them IMO. That's lunacy.

7.) 05 Jul 2018 20:13:13
Scratch sustr, he signed with Anaheim

8.) 05 Jul 2018 21:21:29
So Anaheim can now scratch suster.

9.) 06 Jul 2018 02:23:56
Karlsson is number 3 player in the world number 1 defenceman plus he has played side by side with hedman in the past. of course he's worth sergachev + point + 2 1sts. anyone who honestly thinks otherwise must have been born under a rock and has a few screws loose. point has 2 decent seasons under his belt and sergachev had a great rookie season playing with the likes of hedman kucherov and stamkos who are 3 of the best players in the game, of course he's going to look good in most people's eyes. that still don't put either of their individual values anywhere close to karlssons full value. combined value is close but still not enough. add the late 1st and the value is mostly there. now being it would be an in division trade they'd have to over pay a bit so another late 1st the following year would do the trick.

10.) 06 Jul 2018 11:04:18
That’s a great offer for Karlsson imo.

11.) 06 Jul 2018 11:07:50
Hold on did vb just say Point for Karlsson +.

12.) 06 Jul 2018 13:32:24
vb is a sens hater. Go read his previous posts.

13.) 06 Jul 2018 13:58:27
I did he’ll be traded on Pennies on the dollar and there GM will be fired shortly after the trade because fans will lose it.

14.) 06 Jul 2018 14:34:57
Vbbvbb if Dorian is dumb enough to do any less than what's listed in this proposal then I do agree on the part that he will be fired. either that of fans start a riot.

15.) 06 Jul 2018 16:15:21
This will be a worse return then Thornton got. There is no way the senator get a game changer back in any trade they’re in a bad position.

16.) 06 Jul 2018 18:21:58
@Rambo: Sens has to add the higher pick (5th rnd) to Hoffman to get boedker, a C prospect and a 6th rounder after you guaranteed he would get a top 10 pick and a top prospect.

So now that you say Point, Sergachev and two 1st rounders, I will equate that to one good prospect (Foote), a first rounder, and a conditional pick (maybe 1st)

17.) 06 Jul 2018 18:46:02
Somewhere between Rambo's delusional Sergachev, Point and 2 First round picks proposal, and VB's unlikely prediction of Ottawa not getting a gamer changer back lies Karlsson's true value.

If Karlsson has his heart set on playing in Tampa, and that is the only team with which he is willing to extend with, it obviously limits the bidding war for his services. Ottawa could still trade him to another team for just this year, which would open the bidding to more teams, but they would be trading a Karlsson with one year left on his contract vs. trading an extended Karlsson (for which teams would obviously be willing to trade more for) . Clearly a lot of moving parts.

Rambo also stated in a post above that Ottawa did not have to trade Karlsson "because he has a year left on his contract. " I'm not sure what he means by that (he probably doesn't either) as if Ottawa wants to get anything for Karlsson he must be traded as it is pretty clear he will not be resigning in Ottawa. Personally, I think Ottawa would be foolish to let this drag on into the season as not only will it be a gigantic distraction, they also risk Karlsson injuring himself at which point no one would trade for him, and he would walk next summer as a UFA.

If he goes to Tampa I think that is a positive for Ottawa as Tampa will not be able to take on Ryan's contract, so Karlsson's return will not be further diminshed by Cheap Uncle Eugene stapling a massive cap dump to the trade.

Time will tell (hopefully sooner than later) .

18.) 06 Jul 2018 19:11:45
Apologies -- "Karlsson injuring himself" as i wrote above sounds like I meant Karlsson should be on suicide watch or something. That was NOT my intention and poorly worded. I simply meant that allowing Karlsson to play would be running the risk of him suffering a season-ending injury, closing the door on a possible trade before he walks as a UFA next summer.

19.) 06 Jul 2018 20:16:11
Well said Unsportsmanlike and Unbiased Jim I like that offer.

20.) 06 Jul 2018 21:48:57
@Unsportsmanlike: always seem to agree exactly with you. Always well expressed logic.

08 Jul 2018 21:12:53
I don't see how Matthews gets 11.5 or 10.5 or anywhere close to that considering Tavares' point production is way better and he's signed at 11. I don't think he gets that much i'd say

Nylander 6M x 8YR
Marner 6M x 8YR
Matthews 8M x 8YR

Franchaise Billy

1.) 08 Jul 2018 21:42:01
Not a chance. Matthews will ask for at least 10 mil per. if he doesn't the leafs will have another problem. Cause the only reason he doesn't ask and doesn't get. At least 10 mil per is if he completely craps to bed this season.

2.) 08 Jul 2018 21:44:43
And eventhough it's a very small sample size Mathews production is right up there with tavares even better in some categories.

3.) 08 Jul 2018 21:51:49
Matthews is younger and hasn't entered his prime. And will be based both on his point production/ skill and what he projects to turn into as the #1 c ahead of tavares.

4.) 08 Jul 2018 22:27:59
Lol no on Matthews. It’s league comparisons that matter. Mcdavid got 12.5 and jack Eichel got 10. He will get between them. 8x8 is what pacioretty has asked for, 8x8 is what Phil kessel got 4 years ago, 8x8 is not even close.

And no on marner too. I would be happy as hell of Matthews took 10.5 and marner took 7.5.

5.) 08 Jul 2018 23:48:35
I hope you’re right but I don’t think so. Matthews has 132 pts in 144 games for a .92 PPG. Tavares has 150 pts in 159 games the last 2 seasons for a .94 PPG. I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from that Tavares’ point production is way better.

6.) 09 Jul 2018 00:42:26
if he doesn't put up a ppg he won't get tavares money, same for marner.

nylander should get a bridge deal, unless they sign him long term for 6mish.

7.) 09 Jul 2018 02:37:06
Well Mathews is 20 was a PPG last season and in his rookie season he beat Tavares season high goal total. Also he is much better defensively according to obscure personal visual observational comparisons and professionally used advanced statistics. He’s worth atleast Tavares he brought the leafs farther then Tavares brought the Islanders in 2 seasons. If E. Kane and JVR are worth 7 mil Marner is definitely worth more.

But I hope you’re right.

8.) 09 Jul 2018 06:32:59
I think the fact that Matthews, Nylander and Marner are rfas might have a small factor into their new deals. Also Mcdavid and eichel are being paid to be the face of the franchise and to lead them to a better future, Mathews, Marner and Nylander don’t have to be the face of the franchise, I think they’ll just play hockey, produce well and let Tavares take the spotlight for at least this upcoming season, my gut feeling is that because both Marner and Matthews made an appearance to the Tavares pitch, they are willing to take a small discount but for less years so when the cal rises they then can get paid big time and long term, my guess is Matthews 9 million for 5 years, Marner 6.5 for 5 years and Nylander is a wild card so maybe he sign for a extra years cause he’s been there the longest but he gets paid his worth at 6.25 million which is pastrnk money.

9.) 09 Jul 2018 18:36:27
@A099 the leafs are probably going to pay Mathews to be the “LONG TERM” face of the franchise. They’ll definitely look to sign him and probably Marner long term.

10.) 09 Jul 2018 22:59:26
You’re probably right but they do have 15+ years left to play in this league so honestly a 5 year dea right now does make some sense as they are looking to be a contender for Atleast the next 6-8 years so why not take a little less years maybe add a couple free agents with the money saved to fill out they’re weaknesses and in 5 years when they hoekfully win a cup or cap is above 100 million, then they sign long term 8 year deals that’ll run till they’re 33-34 years old.

11.) 10 Jul 2018 16:50:55
No one knows how long their career is going to be. These guys want the term for security more often than not. They want to make as much as they can, when they can because injuries Do happen, especially with the info out on concussions these days. Imagine if Nathan Horton or David Clarkson didn’t cash in for all they could get when given the opportunity. They’re retirement and families security in the future would look a lot different.

04 Jul 2018 12:58:42
Flames look weak so i tweaked their roster a bit.

To Flames
• (2019) 6th-Round Pick
To Coyotes
• (RW) Troy Brouwer
• (D) Oliver Kylington
• (2019) 3rd-Round Pick

To Flames
• (2019) 3rd-Round Pick
To Canadiens
• (D) Michael Stone

Gaudreau - Monahan - Neal
Tkachuk - Jankowski - Lindholm
Bennett - Backlund - Frolik
Czarnik - Ryan - Quine

Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Andersson - Healey

(Bennett, Neal, Tkachuk, Quine, Hamonic, Healey) grit players who also have skill.

Franchaise Billy

04 Jul 2018 12:16:11
The leafs are going to be super good with

Tavares - Marner
Matthews - Nylander

Jeez, they still need defence though. Without touching those 4, what are good options?

Jason Demers, Brandon Montour, Cody Ceci, Jonas Brodin, Travis Hamonic, Chris Tanev?

Franchaise Billy

1.) 04 Jul 2018 12:28:45
Out of those 6 Tanev is probably the best fit but Brodin is the best player.

03 Jul 2018 12:55:15
How well do you guys think calgary will do this season?

With acquiring James Neal, Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, Austin Czarnik, Derek Ryan etc.

With their lineup looking like this

Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - James Neal
Matthew Tkachuk - Mikael Backlund - Elias Lindholm
Sam Bennett - Mark Jankowski - Michael Frolik
Austin Czarnik - Derek Ryan - Troy Brouwer

Mark Giordano - TJ Brodie
Noah Hanifin - Travis Hamonic
Rasmus Andersson - Michael Stone

Mike Smith
David Rittich / Jon Gillies

Franchaise Billy

1.) 03 Jul 2018 15:51:17
I hear Neal might play on a wing with Bennett or Jankowski to spread out offense and get him away from top checking. Either way, I think they’re like a lot of teams, look good on paper but have to prove a lot. Also I think (like almost every team) their season hinges on goaltending. And smith was up and down last year and isn’t getting any younger.

2.) 03 Jul 2018 19:23:21
Smith stood on his head but hopefully that changes with a new coaching system. I think they will be a threat this year, same with the leafs!!! I think the Leafs and Flames will be the 2 canadian teams to make it the farthest idk about the peg tho

3.) 03 Jul 2018 21:10:43
It's a solid line up.

02 Jul 2018 18:57:21
Flames sign James Neal at 5.75m x 5yrs

Franchaise Billy

1.) 02 Jul 2018 19:54:15
Ugly term.

2.) 02 Jul 2018 21:38:04
I'm not a big fan of james Neal but I think he could be a good fit with the flames. Cap and term are not bad considering what players comparable to him usually get.

3.) 02 Jul 2018 22:35:26
Yeah, I think he will be alright there. Like all contracts nowadays, the last year or two are probably questionable, but should be able to put up 30 goals for them for the next 3-4 seasons.

4.) 03 Jul 2018 00:08:38
I like ot for Calgary.
. I also think he can add some veteran leadership to this group of young skilled forwards. would be better of its a 3 year deal. but. like Habby said its comparible to others.

5.) 03 Jul 2018 05:47:31
JVR is a year and a half younger, got the same 5 years, but at $7 mill instead. Both guys score goals, Neal plays a little more physical. I’d say it’s in the right range that I expected.

Flames get - James Reimer, Nick Bjugstad
Panthers get - Mats Zucarello, Sam Bennett, Rangers 1st
Rangers get - Troy Brouwer, Michael Frolik, Keith Yandle, flames 2nd and 3rd

Rangers are rebuilding, flames get fleeced, florida rips off both teams lol. Dumb, flames are good down the middle and at goal aswell.
