Jets trouba
Wild brodin

Same age not 100% sure on brodin, but I think he's slightly worse than trouba, but he is also locked up long term with an aav around 4, so with trouba being an unknown (salary wise) it may be good for the jets to get someone who is cap friendly.

Thoughts?

1.) 28 Sep 2016 21:25:25
This has already been posted, but wild will need to add. Or atleast add a cap dump if Trouba legit wants 7mil.

2.) 28 Sep 2016 22:12:59
Brodin isn't a little bit worse he's a lot they would have to put in something like 2 secounds.

IF Johnny hockey won't sign and the flames do trade him,

Flames: Johnny+ 2nd/ 3rd
Flyers: Wayne simmonds and Ivan provarov

Logic: flyers get the best player in the deal, but the flames get an undervalued player in simmonds to replace John on the 1st line, and they also get an excellent d prospect. John
Gets to go home also.

Thoughts?

1.) 22 Sep 2016 22:43:02
No from flames.

Does any1 know much about Thomas dipauli? Just wondering cause the pens are reportedly going to sign him. Does any body know like a best case scenario nhl comparable or just a nhl comparable? Thanks.

1.) 19 Aug 2016 01:33:54
Good on face offs, likely AHL or ECHL player for a few years to develop. Potential of a fourth liner or career AHLer.

2.) 19 Aug 2016 02:17:42
That's what I read.

3.) 19 Aug 2016 03:30:41
Ok, thanks.

4.) 19 Aug 2016 05:19:37
This is from HockeysFuture which is a decent site for prospects etc but seems to be lacking recent updates. Sounds like McJesus is pretty similar to this.

Talent Analysis
DiPauli is an interesting case. Prior to the 2014-15 season, his third at Notre Dame, he was a high-energy two-way player with limited offensive upside (just 17 points in 67 games) . Then, he burst onto the scene with a 21 assist, 29 point effort in 41 games for the Irish last season. He is good on faceoffs and works hard at both ends of the ice, so his offensive explosion is likely due to an uptick in ice time and improved line mates. In any event, he is a strong two-way center with a high motor and strong skating ability.

Future
As of this writing, DiPauli is waiting to be signed by the Capitals or to be released as free agent. Should he sign with the Capitals, he will likely get a shot at the AHL or spend the year in the ECHL working on his offensive game. Ultimately, he could find himself playing the role of an effective third or fourth line center thanks to his ability in the faceoff circle and his high motor.

5.) 19 Aug 2016 07:16:11
Yeah BJ that's where I read it. I don't know why people are disagreeing yet nobody says what's true then lol.

6.) 19 Aug 2016 22:51:51
My guess is when it is all said and done he will be a 4th liner for the Pens at some point in his career. By the sounds of it he plays like Rust.

Edm: Drais, yak, 2017 and 2018 1st,2nd and 3rd, sekera, nurse
Florida: Ekblad

This is sort of a joke proposal, but it would be sick if they could trade for Ekblad without giving up mcd.

1.) 11 Aug 2016 05:17:12
But are you insane? Ekblad would look amazing with the oilers, but for all that? Think about it.

2.) 11 Aug 2016 05:23:45
Sort of a joke but not really? McDavid would have to be included probably.
EDM- McDavid, Nurse
FLO- Ekblad, Barkov

Or

EDM- Draisaitl, Nurse
FLO- Ekblad, Bjugstad.

3.) 11 Aug 2016 05:24:08
I would rather keep that package as an Oilers fan. Ekblad is one helluva defender, but that package is way too much in my opinion.

4.) 11 Aug 2016 05:44:02
He's just joking guys (I hope) because that's awfuk for Edmonton I might have threw up a bit.

5.) 11 Aug 2016 06:14:18
For once I'll agree ekblad is worth more than Draisaitl 1st and nurse though I doubt they will trade fyi at lEast this isn't a oel or fault trade.

6.) 11 Aug 2016 13:43:32
Isn't worth more is what I meant, but I wouldn't trade him if I had him.

7.) 11 Aug 2016 14:17:56
EKblad would command McDavid, and McDavid ONLY.

8.) 11 Aug 2016 15:42:56
Florida jumps at this trade but Ed would never do it.

9.) 11 Aug 2016 20:06:56
McDavid>>Ekblad.

20 Jul 2016 21:24:51
Idk if this would work, but
Oilers: RNH
Canucks: tanev

Other pieces may need to be added, but it seems like an interesting trade to me, what does everyone think? Who would add, and what?

1.) 20 Jul 2016 22:48:40
Even if the value is there I highly doubt Vancouver trades there top D for RNH it will take a big over payment.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 22:59:04
No hanks from Vancouver. Their center depth is far greater than their defensive depth.

3.) 21 Jul 2016 00:27:37
Um Nuge will get a lot more than Tanev. Both teams decline.

4.) 21 Jul 2016 04:11:23
Not terrible but I'll keep Tanev.

Damn Habs. woulda been a good 3rd line center .

11 Aug 2016 21:19:39
Ekblad or parayko? ( mainly for colt, but others can answer If they want)

1.) 12 Aug 2016 02:26:21
I'm sure 9 out of 10 will pick ekblad but I like colt he's bigger stronger skates just as well and is better defensivley per hero charts warrior charts and has a rocket of a slapshot

Ekblad gms78 g15 a21 +18
Playoffs 6gms 0g 1a

Parayko gms79 g9 a24 +28
Playoffs gms20 g2 a5

But performance doesn't mean anything till they repeat right, cause he is the next t Meyers right lol.

2.) 12 Aug 2016 02:47:01
Ekblad AINEC.

3.) 12 Aug 2016 04:14:16
Ekblad.

4.) 12 Aug 2016 05:40:37
I really don't know how anyone couldn't take ekblad and comparing Colton p to Meyers seems about right.

5.) 12 Aug 2016 11:58:13
Is this really a question? c'mon please don't try to convince yourself you wouldn't trade Parayko for Elblad straight up. Parayko is 24 top 4/ 6 defencemen while Ekblad is only 20 and is a stud top pairing defencemen. plus minus is a bad stat to judge between 2 players and Parayko scored 60 percent of his points within the first few weeks of the season lol. If you really would take Parayko over Ekblad you've lost any credibility you never had and I would think you know absolute nothing and are just a biased St. Louis Blues homer. I can see why people would dislike the Blues just because of you.

6.) 12 Aug 2016 19:28:03
"If you really would take Parayko over Ekblad you've lost any credibility you never had and I would think you know absolute nothing and are just a biased St. Louis Blues homer. "

Could not have said it better myself.

7.) 14 Aug 2016 02:29:15
First off parayko just turned 23 in may and wanted to finish college which he did. As far has his development this year he played 20+ minutes in pp pk even strength ect. I'm not going to continue to defend my stance on him I like parayko game and he had a better year than ekblad per stats and performed outstanding in the playoffs. So think what you will but I will remind you guys about your comments against him when he comes out with a bether year this year. Just like when I said blues would beat chi and Dal in playoffs you all said I was a homer then too. It's ok.

11 Aug 2016 01:10:40
Who do you think has the best value contract in the nhl? Not counting entry level, cause the I think everyone would say Mcdavid.

1.) 11 Aug 2016 02:00:38
Taveres and Josi.

2.) 11 Aug 2016 02:03:02
Karlsson and Tavares came to mind right away.

3.) 11 Aug 2016 02:03:12
Duncan Keith john tavares max pacioretty and jvr all have pretty good deals.

4.) 11 Aug 2016 02:07:23
josi or patches, little and jvr runners up, price as well. simmonds at under 4 is nice.

5.) 11 Aug 2016 02:24:09
Without looking anything up I'd say Tavares. I think 5.5 million.

6.) 11 Aug 2016 02:36:04
David Clarkson, nah for real Dion Phaneuf. Kidding probably OEL at 5.5, Seguin at 5.75 or even Ellis at 2.5M!

7.) 11 Aug 2016 04:52:06
this can be looked at in two ways i think.

If you're talking about the best value over the life of the contract, it's definitely dncan keith. CHI got all the best years (there were many, and probably a few more to come) of one of the best defenceman in the league for just a touch over 5.5 mil. However, if you want to remove the stupid contracts signed before the lockout (which is likely a better way of doing it), i'd say it's Josi. He makes as much as some 3rd pair guys, but is one of the best all-around defencemen in the game without a doubt.

If you're asking about the best value just for this coming year, it's either benn or price for me. Benn is still at 5.5 for this year, which is tremendous value for one of the best forwards in the league, and price is, well, he's price - no explanation needed.

8.) 11 Aug 2016 14:20:11
1st one that came to mind was Schneider. It isn't insane value contract but paying 6 million for a top 3 goalie is pretty nice.

9.) 11 Aug 2016 15:34:17
Josi karlsson and duncan keith come to minf right away.
