Calgary Needs a Big, top Line RW to compliment Gaudreau and Monahan. There aren't a lot that come to mind who are in the same age Bracket, except the following:

-Michael Dal Colle, NYI
-Anthony Manta, DET
-Miko Rantanen, COL

Ergo, the options are:

To DET: Oliver Klington, Andrew Magniapane To CGY: Mantha

OR

TO COL: Rasmus Anderson
TO CGY: Rantenen (Maybe sweeten with a 3rd if they balk)

OR

TO NYI: Troy Brower, Klington
To CGY Michael Dal Colle

OR

Calgary could just sign MIchael Grabner, so long as the term and Cap hit aren't above 4M per. If you look at the Cost/Point of RW players in the NHL last year Alex Chiasson was 12th. Considering Calgary's cap space, they need to get a player who produces at higher rate per dollar. Only Mantha and Ranten seem to fit that bill. (I'm sure Boston won't part with Pastrnak and Winnipeg won't give up Laine). I included Brower in the NYI trade because they are in a "win now mode" and need him more than a prospect like Lazar.

Rantanen is the most untouchable piece on Colorado maybe add Dougie Hamilton Take out Brouwer on dal Colle. No from Detroit.

I agree with your premise of the Flames needing a young top 6 RW who is big to compliment their top players.

Now being a Red Wings fan, Detroit declines the deal you proposed. So long as we have Holland, he isn't going to make any big trades. Mantha has shown he has promise and won't be traded very easily. Not saying he is going to be to command the moon but it's going to have to more then this offer and possibly more then your willing to pay. Detroit is in rebuild transition where we need our young players like Mantha, AA, Larkin and Svechnikov. Detroit is trying to build around this core through drafting.

Anyone else on our roster besides those I mentioned are available for a reasonable price. Ideally picks/ prospects or young roster players as the return. Values vary for each of those and salary/ reasonable cap dumps can be taken to even out value.

So if for example Calgary wanted Nyquist/ Tatar in their top 6, then there may be a deal there which is more plausible then moving Mantha.

Where do I start?

Mantha is worth more than Kyling. Mangipane doesn't make up the difference at all.

There was a reason why Rantanen was taken in the top 10 in 2015, and why Andersson was a second rounder. Colorado doesn't take that.

Brouwers contract is awful. Although Kyling for MDC isn't that bad, I really don't think NYI wants Brouwer+Ladd+Boychuk as bad contracts.

And Grabner ain't a UFA until 2018.

Nylander - if you think Calgary adds Hamilton onto any of these trades you're insane. He's worth more than any of the players listed here.

5.) 28 Jun 2017 11:22:43
Doubt Colorado let's Rantanen go Without Hamilton or Bodie.

Hamilton>>dal colle
Hamilton>rantanen.

There are roster limits. You can't trade 5 spare parts for one player in The real world.

Nobody wants Nolan Patrick. He is one concussion away from never playing again.

Sorry, but Nolan Patrick isn't going to have a long career and JVRs is almost over.

Sutter better not still be the coach after this year. The guy is not meant for the NHL in 2021.
