If it's clear that Karlsson will not extend with anyone other than Tampa, Ottawa is going to need to manage their expectations for a return if he is traded as a rental to any other team. I seriously doubt Colorado would be willing to include Ottawa's 1st, which has a high probability of being a top-3 pick, for a season or less of EK (especially along with a nice piece under contract for multiple years in Barrie) .

do you guys think that karlsson would say yes to a trade to van if the rumors are ture and if so who do ottawa get i was just thinking about this maybe something like this Quinn Hughes a frist round pick 2019 and a defenseman.

I don’t see Vancouver being really in it but could be wrong. I don’t doubt the reports they’re interested, I think 30 teams are. I just don’t believe for a second he signs there long term so why would they pay the price for him?!
If Ottawa comes to him and says, Canucks are the only team offering enough for us to justify trading you, it’s canucks or Stay in Ottawa, I could see him waiving to get out and then still have every intention of going to UFA and ending up in Vegas, Tampa or Dallas.
But without a confidence in keeping him long term, Canucks would be insane to trade for him. With Brock, Horvat, Petterson, Hughes and Juolevi they have a good young foundation. Stick with it.

Apperently EK65 doesn't want to resign with any Canadian team. But Ottawa is also trying to trade him to the west.
But talks have picked up again the last few days.

And now apperently Freidman reached out to EK65 about that rumor of not wanting to resign with a Canadian team and EK said that's not true, and that's all I'll say about trade rumors. Lol.
