Cou

I'm not ready to give up on Sherbak yet.

28 Jun 2018 19:15:54
Mtl : Pacioretty
Nyi : Nelson (signed), 1st 2019 (likely around 20th)

Fair?

Cou

1.) 28 Jun 2018 20:09:41
I don't do that trade if I'm MTL.

2.) 29 Jun 2018 04:22:11
I think Habs would be all over that.

3 trades :
Mtl : 3rd Ovr Pick
Ari : 5th Ovr Pik, Perlini

Mtl : Pacioretty (signed), 38th pick, Lindgren
Edm : 10th Ovr pick, cap dump?

Mtl : 10th Ovr pick, 56th pick, Lekhonen
Det : 6th Ovr pick

Mtl ends up with the 5th and 6th picks

Cou

1.) 06 Jun 2018 21:40:40
So Montreal ends up with 5th and 6th and a cap dump for 3rd ovr, multiple season 30 goal scorer, young winger with lots of potential and 2 seconds? Couldn’t see Montreal doing this.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 22:46:30
pelini hahahahaha dream on.

3.) 06 Jun 2018 22:50:05
so we trade

3OVA, Pacioretty (signed), lindgren, 38th pick, 56th pick, lehkonen.

we get

5OVA, 6OVA, pelrini and a cap dump.

Hard pass

pelini isn't worth anything to us we get a cap dump we move down from 3OVA to 5th hahaha ok Arizona wishes.

Mtl :
Pacioretty

Chi :
Hossa (contract), 8th ovr pick

Fair?

Cou

1.) 23 May 2018 16:50:55
Montreal has enough cap problems with Weber’s and Price’s contracts.

2.) 23 May 2018 18:56:48
Since Hossa just retired would his contract still be a thing or would it be terminated?

3.) 23 May 2018 20:15:24
It would be thing.

4.) 23 May 2018 20:49:13
I think since he retired it’s done. If he stayed on LTIR it would still be a thing (like pronger) . I could be wrong but I believe the ones that still stay on after retirement are guys who sign multi year deals after the age of 35. Hossas deal takes him to 40+ but it was one of those 12 or 13 year outrageous deals signed at like 28 years old. I believe the rule you’re talking about where the team pays even if the player retires was put in place afterwards to stop deals like Hossa, zetterberg, Franzen etc.

Again I could be wrong, that’s how I remember it though.

5.) 23 May 2018 21:20:00
Okay well with that in mind easy easy no from Chicago especially if patches doesn’t sign. Chicago needs to build up through youth again.

6.) 24 May 2018 01:12:22
I’m pretty sure Hossa hasn’t/ won’t officially retire until his contract is up.

7.) 24 May 2018 05:35:44
Hossa won't sign the papers until his contract expires. Its cap circumvention. he's never going to play again but won't retire so they can put him on LTIR.

8.) 24 May 2018 20:47:45
Hossas contract will just be buried on LTIR won't it?

15 May 2018 21:53:04
Montreal :
Pacioretty
3rd round pick 2019

Dallas :
J Spezza
R Hintz
9th ovr pick

Yes there is a lot going to montreal but they take on spezza's contract. I know that the draft is in Dallas but I think this could be a good move for the stars because they would have the cap space to sign someone like Statsny/Maroon/Grabner afterwards.

Cou

1.) 16 May 2018 00:47:21
It's a good trade not going to lie but spezza won't go to a Canadian team.

2.) 16 May 2018 00:48:51
the asking price for pacioretty was crazy high from bergevin apparently he asked for vilardi and 1st from La Kings which is basically a top 10 pick plus another mid 1st rounder so idk if he will settle on this.

3.) 16 May 2018 14:51:29
I would t do it if I’m Dallas. My feelings on pacioretty are well established on this site lol but he’s a real good player, not a great player. He’s a 4th or 5th best on a great team and that’s not what I would be trading a top 10 pick for. Devils traded 9th overall for Schneider who was a star for them for a few years after in the most important individual position, not a winger with 1 year left before a big raises, pushing 30 years old and coming off an atrocious season. And that 9th became Bo Horvat. In a pretty deep draft again, I wouldn’t wanna miss on a prospect like that for a year of a winger who would be behind seguin, Benn, Klingberg, and radulov as most important/ impactful on the team.

4.) 16 May 2018 16:04:42
I get your point but I think that getting spezza's contract off the books is already worth a lot, more than Hintz alone. So I think Patches and the 9th balance the trade.

5.) 16 May 2018 17:37:55
It’s almost guaranteed for 1 year because seguins contract is up the same time as Patches. So he’s getting paid 10 mill probably and then patches will want 6.5-7 probably. Don’t see it happening and I’d keep the top 10 pick. Should get a good player that could be playing for $850k the following year when seguins raise kicks in.

6.) 16 May 2018 18:23:43
Doesn't Dallas pick 13th, not 9th? Or am I missing something? I thought the Rangers are at 9.

7.) 16 May 2018 19:50:50
This is beyond terrible for Mtl
And they don’t need another old overpaid player.

Imo Karlsson (resigned) and Matthews are close in value. But you won't get Marner and Nylander for what's left.

I wouldn't trade Rantanen for what the flames are giving. hard to think they would also get Simmonds.

The oilers would probably want to send some salary back or at least salary retention. If so, not so bad value-wise.

So you are saying they should trade their best prospect and 2 possibly good prospects for a player that won't be much better than Poehling? AND Gallagher?
