Here is my OPINION on this. Dekeyser = kulikov so that's a wash.
Zadina is one of the top winger prospects in the league, i've always been high on his potential.
detroit's 1st in 2020 is likely a lottery pick, and potentially a top 5.
Laine is a proven elite winger and one of the top point producers in the league and is still young.
Depending on what laine is demanding, if winnipeg is unable to afford to pay for him with the salary cap situation, i'd be willing to take the gamble with Zadina and the 1st.
Losing laine would be tough but i'd roll the dice with the deal due to salary cap.

Why would the Jets trade Trouba and Perreault for an average, bottom pairing 30 year old d-man in Dekeyser? Even adding a 1st at #6 is not enough. The Jets won't give Trouba and Perreault away and will want a solid young player in return as they are in a win now situation. The pick won't be ready for 2/ 3 years as the Jets overripe their prospects and Maurice hates playing young players.

Oh no. This will never do. Trouba is so good as the great Morgan Rielly. I look at the stats and they show us. Trouba is maybe one year behind. He will get 70 points next year is very good, yes. And he hits more. The Trouba is so very much good than Dekeyser. Oh yes. This must be joke trade.

You look at Staal, here’s a guy that came back down to reality after his very impressive 40 goal campaign last season. And what’s “normal†for this guy? On pace for 25+ goals and 50+ points. Staal is playing outstanding hockey for a guy his age. For any age, really. A proven winner, he has so much more to bring to a team other than just his ability to power his way to the net. A lot of what Staal has to offer are intangibles that don’t always show up on stats sheets.
I’m not sure if Minnesota is looking to trade Staal. He’s well liked, and for some reason I can’t substantiate, I’ve always just figured re-signing him was a given. Then again, hockey is a cutthroat business. At $3.5M, Minny got a deal. They more than got their money’s worth from Staal. He could be looking for a big pay raise now. Staal could go highest bidder and walk on Minny. Or they could trade him for a return if they aren’t making playoffs this year.

The St. Louis trade is good value minus the picks, but if the Jets do trade Trouba in the summer, it will likely be for a younger player (s) as the Jets won't be able to afford AP's new contract.
The other two deals have too much coming from Winnipeg. Maybe a later pick or B/ C prospect for Staal and a prospect package for Muzzin.

I hate to admit, but I side with redwing on this one. I’ll take petro over Trouba any day. He is a legit proven top defence. I think Trouba is a bit overrated. Not to mention if Trouba didn’t want to commit long term with Winnipeg who why would he commit to St. Louis at this point. He would still be a 2nd pairing d man with St. Louis behind paryko. Not to mention that first pick could be a high lottery pick. Not a chance they part with a chance at Hughes or kakko.

Pietrangelo was top 10 D in this league for the last 5 years but this year I can name 25 defensemen that have overall played superior then AP plus maybe another 5 that played on about the same level as AP. Obviously that dosnt take anything away from his past performances but the truth is he's 28 and he's not getting better. I don't see how he can be call a top 10 defensemen as of now, he's just not playing like one.
