Brodie retained plus Robertson will get more than Blackwell. Hes a decent bottom 6 that Toronto doesn't need. Parayko is at a good price but on the wrong side of 30 signed for 7 years. Plus full no trade.

Trading for the same player twice in alittle over a year probably wouldnt be the wisest management decision, the leafs couldn't spare 1.2 mill in the summer of 22 to keep him so why circle back now? That parayko contract is hard to look at right now and won't be easy to move until/ unless he bounces back with a strong season first.

Thats fun but sign and trade? Sign him without a trade clause and trade him immediately? I'm blackhawks fan and would love that deal. Previous regime thought they could still win so traded so much to get him. And signed him for 8 extra years. Almost impossible contract to trade so looks good to me.

Leafs can’t afford to move Brodie as he is irreplaceable as the leafs number 1 shut down dman. No one in the leafs system can fill his role.

After seeing what Debrincat got, I highly doubt the Leafs get a package like this for Nylander.

Brodie can still help if deployed properly, but at 33 and 5M cap hit, he isn't the guy he once was. He looked like he was having a hard time keeping up in the playoffs too, and his 3 apples on the offence show that his offense is slowing as well.
Whether you retain salary on Brodie, or take back a bad contract, there's some work required to make the right transaction and deployment for where he is here and now.

It would have to be Hanafin, he informed Calgary he won’t re-sign. He wants to play in the US.

2nd line Power play in Toronto for 1/ 2 the year. Plus on a team where he’s the #1 shooter, he wud have less defensive responsibilities.

Every NHL team has a AHL affiliate, NHL teams are allowed to have a maximum of 50 pro contracts.
Whether you see it or not, it’s important teams have appropriate space and flexibility for future deals. That’s why plugs and AHL’ers are usually included in trades.
Marincin is a good AHL d-man, but basically a NHL injury-bug call-up, which actually has some depth value.
