Lucic is 29 and his game is regressing bigtime. It will continue to do so given his style of play. His contract is already an albatross and it still has 5 years left on it. I'd want more than a 1st (albeit a high and valuable first) . His contract is just too awful.

No from Vancouver. The only way we are trading Tanev is for a something huge, which isn’t going to happen. Management wants to keep him. Also, I don’t really want to give up on Goldy just yet, he’s been looking better after getting some NHL ice time.

Sounds pretty fair to me. McDonagh is a solid defenseman that could push Winnipeg over the top. Trouba is much younger and still has a lot to prove. The pick also helps the retooling.

The older guy may be slightly better, but not enough to trade a young 1RHD for. The 2 hardest positions to fill are 1C and 1RHD. We have 1 of each. Why would we trade one?
Montreal traded a good young D for a good old D. How did that work out for them?

Karlsson is UFA in 2019, not 2018 and I doubt the stars have the cap space to sign him if he goes to FA because they need to sign Seguin soon.
