Edm: Pouliot (Cap hit $M/ yr)
Buff: Georges (Cap hit $3M/ yr)
This could be a precursor to an E. Kane deal as Pouliot would help shore up the left side if Kane were dealt. Thoughts?

Georges 3.9 M Modified NMC though. Might wave it to goto a contender.
Reasonable trade. Oilers would probably lose him in the vegas draft though caz they already have their 3 protected D men. If the Oilers figure they have a legitimate shot at the cup this year, Georges rental could be worth it.

I will start off that I am not new to the site, actually have been reading it for a few years now. I am a leafs and oilers fan; and outside of '06, there hasn't been much to cheer about since the early 90's. Anyway, I figured I would join the fray and have some fun with this site.
LA is in a world of hurt without Quick for the next three months and stand a good chance of missing the playoffs if they don't do something. They are in the market for a goalie on an expiring contract, possibly one with two years left, provided the right deal can be had.
Option 1:
Ana - Bernier ($1.5 M retained)
LA - 4th round pick
This is a cheap win-win for both teams
Option 2:
Dal - Niemi ($2 M retained)
LA - Scudari
Look forward to some discussion.

Anaheim isn't retaining any money.
Niemi without salary retention is worth more than just Rob Scuderi. Especially to LA who is desperate for a goalie.

The Flames decided against Bishop when they almost traded for him at the draft, largely due to his asking price for a future contract. Whispers then was that it was going to be the pick they used to select Tkachuk. Can't see this happening. They will ride out the Elliot / Chad Johnson decision this year. I am Oilers fan, and I think the moves that Calgary made between the pipes in the offseason were excellent. It just hash't panned out yet - but it will.

I agree BJ. Kaner, the leafs will need to acquire a young d-man or two as we haven't really drafted any outside of Reilly that are capable of top 4 minutes in a few years when they are challenging hopefully for a playoff spot and more than just the opening round. Fowler is 24 and will still be in his prime. This is a very unique year with expansion draft and younger players that would not normally be made available are. Snagging someone like a Fowler this year is ahead of the plan but hard to pass up the opportunity.
