Oilers: slepyshev and 3rd rounder

Islanders: Ho Sang.

I’d personally be all over that. I’d think the Oil would need too add but is Ho Sang worth a 2nd +? Slepyshev is actually a decent player and an early 3rd isn’t too bad either.

Oilers: Nugent-Hopkins, Pouliot, Pakarinen, 2018 1st

Hurricanes: Faulk, Teravainen

Nothing around Nuge for Faulk will happen Nuge just isn't on the same level as Faulk. Would need to be Faulk+ for Drais or Pulj + a small add maybe 2018 1st for Faulk and a 2018 2nd.

2.) 25 Jun 2017 17:28:27
Imo;

Faulk>>Nugent-Hopkins, because Faulk is a really good dman; dman are a hot commodity right now; if Faulk was to be traded, it would be for a more proven OFFENSIVE threat, such as Matt Duchene. Nuge just hasn't proved his offensive game as of yet,

And Teuvo >> Pakarinen/ Pou/ 1st, because the only thing of value there is a first, and I'd much rather have a proven player than a mid to late first, with the probability of that player selected by the first making it being only about 50/ 50. Cause Pakarinen (who? ) is probably like a Josh Leivo if asking me, a fringe NHLer, nothing more. And Pou is negative value, so yeah.

In all, can't see Carolina taking this.

I don't think Edmonton would do a Drais for Faulk+, as McD/ Drais are the next Sid/ Geno imo, however, Pulj for Faulk would be reasonable and I can see that happening.

Pretty bad offer for Faulk and tevo Jesus easy no for Carolina.

4.) 25 Jun 2017 21:35:59
take out Teuvo and its a possibility.

5.) 27 Jun 2017 17:30:15
Edmonton adds. Teravainen = Hopkins and the rest of that does not get you Faulk.

6.) 27 Jun 2017 17:33:41
Puhlijarvi will not get you close to Faulk. Not at this time. Oil better off staying with Nuge. He's a hard d worker and apparently a great teammate. Chia can't be making anymore trades like he did this week. Better hope Drai keeps scoring like he did in the one playoff series.

Wow that's an easy yes for Edmonton Jesus Christ.

2.) 21 May 2017 08:35:34
What?

1.No from New Jersey and no from the Knights.

2. No way Kovalchuk signs for 4.5 million. He'd want at least 6.

3. The Knights don't even have Pysyk in their organization yet.

4. Why would the Knights take on Pouliot's terrible contract with his terrible play without any retains or good players coming back?

I think I know why people on this website don't take us (oiler fans) seriously.

3.) 21 May 2017 18:05:01
that contract is based off radulov's one year deal with Montreal, the reason that one was at 5.7 was the term and also his age (30). Teams would be hesitant to lock up 6 mill for two years on a 34 year, that once bolted to the K even with a massive contract.

I am making no attempt at guessing who knights will take in expansion from the oilers, but I am making a bigger assumption as to who is take from Florida. With such a deal the knights could get two 3/ 4th line players (pak, and their initial selection from oilers), with a veteran who can possibly bring in 30-40 points in a bigger role and raise them to their cap floor.

You're right though, with every post by a fan of any team, there will be some bias. anyone who thinks they are exempt from that notion is simply a hipocrite.

With the new cap space, could you simply take away both Eriksson and Hutton, change the oilers pick to a 2nd, and have a B-level prospect on behalf of the Canucks?

What's your thought process behind this trade?

So why would Calgary dare trade a diamond like Anderson -when they themselves lack a complete top 6- for a declining 1/ 2 right winger with a hefty cap hit.

@Borje
Let's not be dismissive of the deal, the two are near equivalent, if Faulk is worth "a lot" more then Carolina would have been contenders already. So extra pieces on the oilers behalf are what's necessary to neutralize that big contract.
