That’s about what I expect Laine would bring right now. And I really don’t think I’m far off either. You Winnipeg guys can drink the tears in your beers all you want. He sucked last year, but pretending like he didnt. In my owns excel spreadsheet he comes in between 75-100. An unsigned 50 point getter asking asking over ten million just doesn’t bring home the bacon.

I try to practice patience with the Jets fans that are countering trade proposals here, because I get that the team itself isn't looking to trade Laine to anyone unless the offer is too good to refuse.

But time will tell if/ when Laine is traded and the players/ picks that come back will definitely come as a surprise with how underwhelming the return will be. that's just what happens when you watch a player regress or disappear for half the season. He has upside, but hasn't proven his worth compared to what he expects to be paid.

Add to that his comments in the media, the fortnite addiction, the fact that Laine didn't know how to do his own laundry when he was 18. there's character issues with this kid that any other team would have to address when bringing him into the organization.

As a Wings fan, I would rather keep Zadina and Cholowski. This deal may be close but we are in a better position with both of those young players than the one player in Laine right now.

So we will pass because in our rebuilding state, not comfortable making this deal at this time.

Ya I don’t see Liane a good fit in Detroit. I see him a good fit in Carolina first. Maybe Buffalo. Maybe Montreal but as soon as he takes a few games off and is terrible defensively he’d be ripped to shreds by fans and media.

Those would be decent add ons to a major piece, but on their own get you laughed at. Two prospects that have shown absolutely nothing at the NHL level. Lol

Outside of Larkin, Detroit had nothing even remotely interesting to start a conversation.

I’d value Zadina and Cholowski over Laine tbh.
