One local rumour for teams that call about Laine is that Chevy is asking for a good, young roster player with some term and 2 firsts/ A prospects.   So, it doesn't sound like Laine will be moved unless or is a pretty good return.

The Jets needs are 2C and top 4 RHD.   Wingers, bottom pairing defenseman and goalies have minimal value to the Jets.

So take out the worthless pieces like Juulsen and the 2nd and get rid of Petry as he's too old and doesn't have enough term. Then add Kotkaniemi or Domi, Brook or your 1st from next year and you're more in line with Chevy's ask.

I don't believe that The Jets will be trading Laine soon, especially to the Habs unless they are getting quality not quantity back.

@memarcusjoe, how is Juulsen a worthless piece? A solid 22 year old D that has NHL experiences, probably would have been in the whole season if it wasn’t for an injury. Ik he’s not flashy but still will be a solid 2nd pair D.

Juulsen is worthless until he proves he has fully recovered from his injury. Nothing in his career so far has shown any inclination of being a second pairing defenseman. So, give him a year or two to prove he has recovered from a serious injury and then he may have some decent trade value.

Before he was injured he was playing in Montreal’s top 4. He played excellent in the AHL as a 20-21 year old. Saying he is worthless shows lack of hockey IQ.

How’s is this not close to what Jets want? A top 4 rsd, and two a-prospects, one of which is center. Turn the 2nd into a 1st, and Jets clean up.
