I don't think you understand Necas' value man.
In most lists he's a top 10 prospect in the NHL.
Was even top 5 in some lists last season.

These are actually facts yes but it's also fact that one guy was drafted 12th overall and the other was taken in the 2nd round. This doesn't automatically make one better then the other but neither does having a slightly better season in the minors. Charles Hudon was pretty good in the AHL and look at him now. One would have to assume also that Necas had a harder time adjusting to the North American game too. Language rink size etc. Right now I'm sure if you polled every scout in the league and asked them who they would rather have at least 95% would not take benson.

Well nhl network has necas at
18 and benson at 44 and benson slipped in the draft because of injuries or would of easily been a 1st rounder. they're really not far off from each other. But pool really isn't worth much at this point so Carolina says no.
