The 2020 or 2021 Pick will be decided by the Sabres before the 2020 Draft.
Ottawa's Pick was obtained in the Zaitsev, CBrown Deal.

I have posted other combo trades with Marner going to Buffalo.
It's to me what each Team is looking for Player wise and Cap wise.
Buffalo would love to have Marner to play with Eichel as well as unload Ristolainen.
Toronto is up against the Cap with the Marner situation but still have a few holes, this Trade fixes the holes except backup Goaltender and keeps them under the Cap.
It's a Trade that makes sense for both Teams.
Sabres will still need a 2nd Line Centre with Sheary + going somewhere to get that.

Huge no from leafs a Ristolainen buy out would hurt the leafs a lot can’t be paying him 5 million for the 3rd pairing maybe if he’s versatile he could be the 3rd line RW like Burns did but doubt it.

Rather take him out of the trade probably holds decent value to other teams tho.

Ohh yeah then he instantly becomes the best player on the raptors, the new pitcher on the blue Jays, Best player on the Toronto Rock and the Quarter back for the Toronto argonauts. He probably takes the title from Drake as the best rapper in Toronto too.

I really wish you were the GM of Montreal Mantha. All of Ristos d partners are better when they don't play with him. If a guy makes all his partners worse then there is a common denominator.

Ristolainen is a 24yr old 6"4 215lbs RHanded Shooting Defenceman that averages 46points a year and you would buy him out?
He has been on a crap Team that has thrown him to the wolves at a young age, believe me Teams would want this guy including the Leafs.
Put with someone like Rielly I bet he is much better including Babcock coaching him.
He hits like a truck to and will fight if he has to.
Everything lacking on the Leaf Defense.

I’m in on Ristolainen. Leafs can’t afford him right now but I think I’d like his style. Defense always take longer to develop. He is still young and could round out his game still.

Risto is very good at 2 things playing offensive hockey and playing physical. He’s terrible defensively no denying that I actually think he’d be a better winger like Brett Burns. He could be really good on the PK also as a forward with a strong development camp.
