Too much from Ottawa. A 3rd or 4th should do it for Kadri. Chlapik on his own would be an outstanding return for Toronto.

I think Toronto would prefer not to trade KAdri within the division, especially to Ottawa/ Montreal, but really, considerinh the down year Kadri had, I don’t think its a terrible offer. Probably need a bit more and probably from a diff team but not awful.

'a 3rd or 4th should do it for Kadri' LMAO.

Jeez a 7th round pick must be enough for Ehlers the.

Memarcus you must hate those guys who play against teams top lines, is solid defensively and when used as a #2 centre is good for 25-30 goals and 60 points. Oh, he also outpointed Ehlers who played parts of the year with the likes of Scheifele, Wheeler, Laine. All top offensive players.

I don't think kadri's 4.5 off the leafs books is enough cap space spared for the leafs to consider, if clearing cap space is the key to the trade. with kadri being on a team friendly contract the leafs probably have no problems keeping him unless a team ponies up, or he could also be packaged as the asset with cap dumps going with him. but a trade like this, I can't see it.

after the return trouba got mcmarcus joe and island jet should just go ahead and change their user names and start fresh as new annoyingly uneducated jets fans.

I doubt OTT would want to do the leafs a favour by taking Kadri off their hands but if they did I would imagine the return would be quite lacking for just that reason.

No Don, I actually like those types of guys. But we're talking about Kadri here. Who are you talking about?

Kadri is a regressing 3C, that is poor defensively, only puts up points when he gets tons of PP time with an unsustainably high shooting percentage and has huge selfishness and discipline issues.

10.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 00:28:09
I really thought Joe might come back to reality after theTrouba trade. Yet he still thinks only jets players have value.

Come on Leafs17, do you really believe that if Trouba was willing to be traded anywhere and not only to the Rangers at his request, that he would have garnered that little?

Your answer to this question will let us know if you are biased or not.

Trouba was an RFA and thereby did not have any no trade clause, or am I mistaken? He could have been traded to 29 other teams other than the Rangers.

Kadri lacks discipline, but you’d be hard pressed to find many centers playing on the third line that put up the numbers he does. Also, I’m not sure how sticking up for his team mates makes him selfish. Undisciplined and dirty? Sure.

His $4.5 mln is one of the best value contracts in the league. In fact, his contract is such a bargain, IMO it makes ZERO sense for the Leafs to trade him. You don’t solve salary cap issues by trading your players who are underpaid. The same can be said for the Jets and Ehlers, as vbbb pointed out. Ehlers would get $8 or $9mln on the open market right now.

Also, I was curious what his “unsustainably high shooting percentage” was last year so I looked it up. It was 8.7%. That’s actually considerably lower than his career average of 11.5%. But hey, don’t let facts get in your way.

I’m sure Trouba would’ve got more had he not wanted out of Winnipeg. What does that have to do with the kings ransom you and your sidekick demanded for him? What does it have to do with the fact that you only see value in jets players? What’s that have to do with the fact that you get called out by every fan base? You guys either look for arguments because you’re young and immature or you only have one channel in Winnipeg. You have no clue the value of other teams players so don’t pretend you do.

Only one team in the whole league eh? He didn’t want to be in Canada, seems like there were probably a few options. They could’ve waited it out even. Take the loss and move on.

The Trouba trade was just strange as Chevy could have moved him to any team and he would have been that teams problem. Chevy's rational of the trade still didn't make any sense to me. Unless Pionk is way better than he showed with the Rangers, the 20th pick is a home run or Trouba doesn't sign long term the Rangers the Jets lost this trade big time. Getting back to Kadri, I just don't like him as a player. This season is a big one for him if he stays with the Leafs or is traded. Is Kadri still a good #2 center that can score 30 goals or is he a regressing one that can't get 20? Ottawa is rebuilding so they say no.

Unsportsmanlike, look at Kadri's shooting percentage from his two 30 goal seasons. Those are the aberration. He's not a 30 goal scorer unless all the stars align. But don't let facts get in your way.

Leafs17, you as well as all the other Leafs fan's have been called out by every fan base on this site as well.

Ebs, okay so you're saying you don't know anything at all about the Trouba situation. Similar to unsportsmanlike. Overhart made it clear to the Jets, that Trouba would only consider signing an extension with the NYR and would hold out all year of traded anywhere else.

This is what I figured. You guys don't follow hockey that closely and therefore didn't understand the situation.

21 Jun 2019 15:58:23
Oh I see — the two seasons that don’t support your argument are the aberration; but the two that do are? Lol okay man. He doesn’t need to score 30 anyways. Contract is still a steal at $4.5 mln scoring 20ish goals and 50ish points playing against the McDavid’s of the world.

You’re right — just like you were “right” about Trouba getting Valeno and the 6th overall, or Kakko plus, or Patrick plus or all the other nonsense biased proposals we all saw you post 😂 How’d that work out again? But we’re the ones who don’t know what we’re talking about hahaha

Also, even if the only team Trouba would extend with was the Rangers (kinda weird he hasn’t yet if that was his only choice, no? ) you said in countless proposals of how he could get even more as a rental at the deadline than what people were proposing, despite those proposals being a superior return to what the Jets received in actuality. “Chevy” could have traded him to 30 teams as a full one year rental. You and islandjet were soooo certain of all these teams bidding for his services that he was going to return the world. He didn’t. The end. Like they said above, you were hilariously wrong —take the L and move on and pick up what little credibility you have left 😭.

It seems like islandjet can admit he was wrong and continue on with a normal conversation. Joe is back in defense mode once again. The only way to know if Kadri is a true #2 center is on another team. I’d bet he is and it won’t be in Toronto. He’s the clear cut #2 in Winnipeg at this moment. As much as I’m not a big fan of Kadri’s antics, he was almost a PPG player in the lockout season, has two 32 goal seasons and has matched up well defensively against teams top centres. Everyone knew Kadri wasn’t get 30+ goals again as a 3C. I’m not knocking Bryan Little Joe, it’s just he’s in above his head just like Bozak was for years. “You guys don’t follow hockey that closely”, lol. Yes you’re one of a kind Joe. I thought we were talking about golf all these years.

20.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 17:35:39
Well we'll have to agree to disagree on Kadri then Leafs17. Kadri is slightly better than Little offensively, but much worse defensively. All in all with Kadri's discipline issues he's at best a lateral move for the Jets. So, saying Kadri is a clear cut 2C in Winnipeg is showing your bias.

For the record I also said that the return for Trouba was terrible. I was just questioning you and a few others on if they really thought that is the going rate for a young, top pairing RHD which is what you and others were implying.

It seems you just can't let it go when someone doesn't agree that any Leaf player is supremely valuable.

No your actually just making excuses for his poor return. I never seen a rumour from a legitimate source saying New York was the only place that he’d sign. Can anyone other then Jets fans confirm that? I heard he wanted to be in a city his fiancé could pursue her M. D.

NYR got an unbelievable deal when they stole Trouba but now they have to deal with him and his agent. I'm so glad that Trouba and his agent are the Rangers headache now. Now that the Jets have a 1st round pick the draft will be worth watching today.
