Montreal trades:

Josh brook, andrew shaw.

Calgary trades: Noah hanifin, maybe small cap dump(Frolik?)

(I feel like Andrew Shaw would really thrive playing on the 1st line with monahan and gaudreau he is really good defensively and on a good contract in his prime. He proved last year that playing with a good playmaker will really set him off. He could really be a good piece to balance out Calgary's first line. On top they get a really food prospect in Josh brook. Montreal finally get a top4LHD they were looking for all this time and Calgary trade a player from a position of strength to get 2 players from positions they need).

Yah it’s really not close for Hanfin. It’d take Domi+ imo which most likely isn’t something the Habs are interested in.

Calgary may trade Brodie but don't think theyd think of trading hanifin. Plus would take a lot better package. Shaw is not the centre piece to get a solid young defenceman. I really don't think that gets you Brodie tbh.

I get he's a young player that might become something but it's still an if. Brodie you know what you're getting. he's kinda a Gardiner type, they're good players but have lapses often. Both good offensive de but make mistakes in their own end a little too often.

And shaw is a cap dump. He could play first line but definitely suited for 3rd or 4th line. I'm a Blackhawks fan so have watched him a lot. Valuable guy but just not at his salary. Could prove me wrong getting a chance on flames top line like ferland but never really been consistent.

How is it worse? Hanfin is potentially an elite dman and would instantly be on Montreal’s top pairing he’d be Great with Weber. In fact i think he’d excel with Weber more then he would with any other dman in the game.
