Oil: Benning

from what i read to (most likely same thing), i believe oilers offered kassian for brown but then leafs countered with brown for benning or khaira and then that's when it fell through. i'm surprised oilers wouldn't have done the benning deal, but then again gretz said he didn't want to trade away petro for nothing so we have another dman if injuries arise. Could be a summer trade.

I think brown and benning was the main part but leafs wanted a pick to do that they like brown a lot but word is they also like that big winger kaira or whatever his name is.
I would not be surprised to see a brown benning deal in the summer makes a lot of sense for the oilers look at brown and mcdavid numbers together in jr so for a little cost I think it's worth the chance to see if they could form that again.

Nah @MJ from what I saw, apperantky this was the Oilers original offer, and the Leafs declined it. Talks became something like Brown+++ for Larsson after (I read this on IG/ Twitter, don’t shoot the messenger😂)

Lol Brown+++ for Larson. Brown was worth something when he went in the corners and played a tough game. Now he dosnt do so anymore and plays soft ( that's coming from a huge leafs fan at work that was making fun of me when mtl loss to Toronto on Saturday lol)

Topshelf, i saw that tweet and bob stauffer (oilers main media guy i listen to) said not at any point during discussions was larsson brought up and the guy who leaked that is a bruins guy media haha. The only way oilers would trade larsson to toronto is for nylander or kapanen + but oilers would need to equal out the cap.

I think we could really use Brown, but I have doubts Leafs would want Benning when they are only trading Brown to free up cap space. They already have enough defensemen in the minors ready to play in the nhl. They don’t need another depth guy. They need a top line guy.
