This would be a straight up hockey trade that addresses both Teams needs, Ferland probably walks and getting an asset and a good sound 2 way bottom 6 Winger in CBrown is a plus, the Canes have one 2 many right handed shots and Dermott for Faulk with age and contract makes sense there to, as for the Leafs who are looking to make that last step for a Playoff run Ferland would be a solid LWinger for any of the Leafs 3 headed monster up the middle, Faulk gives them not only a Vet on the backend but he shoots right and when He was teamed with Hainsey they where Carolina's top Defense Pairing, this Trade Proposal makes sense to me in everyway.

Again, same as the trade below, is Faulk really that much better than Muzzin that we need to trade Dermott? Again, Faulk’s got the same term as Muzzin, and the case can be made that Muzzin is the better player, yet we didn’t have to trade a roster player for him. Is Faulk really worth a future top 4 defenseman?

Excuse shootsmcgee he's clearly below the Human on the evolutionionairy path and his brain is not far enough developed to comprehend that Faulk is absolutely horrendous at hockey aside from PP abilities and decent offensive zone coverage he is a ECHL deffensman. Ferland is good but Brown is younger and has term control. In my opinion the younger cheaper player is more valuable. Dermotte is already the better dman then Faulk and has potential to be a top pairing two way plug.
