Condition pick is if Leafs reach coherence finals it becomes a 1st 2019 and if they don't, it stays as a 2nd 2019

It's going to be difficult for the Leafs to add on defence that isn't someone from their system so why not just bolster the offence for the playoff run and honestly try to score more goals than the other team and Panarin could be another threat the opposing team will have to worry about

Columbus receives a very good young players who is still growing and two decent picks before they lose him for nothing in FA

Meanwhile for Toronto I believe Trevor Moore is ready to step up and could take one of their spots

I forgot to put in that Panarin is only a rental and nothing more to the Leafs after this season, Leafs can not sign everybody including Panarin to their desired contract and get an impact defenceman. Price listed above is the price for a rental only.

The price for a high-impact rental like that is usually a first, a good player, and a good prospect. Kapanen/ Johnssen, Liljgren, and a first would be the asking price. If CLB gets desperate you may be able to go with a lesser prospect, but that will be a realistic expectation.

The Leafs became a losing Team making a move like, Kapanen/ Johansson, Liljegren and a 1st Rounder to have a Panarin type player for half a Season #Xzyler, so no I don't see Dubas falling into that trap like past Leaf GMs.
