Colorado Trades
EJohnson

Toronto Trades
Zaitsev
Liljegren (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2019

EJohnson has never been the elite top Defenceman everyone though he was when Drafted 1st Overall and Colorado I believe would move him for the right price, this Trade Proposal really is the right type as they get an NHL Player a Prospect and a 1st Round Pick.

Leafs get what they are looking for getting EJohnson so no need to go into details why they would make this Trade.

Thoughts ?

johnson has a nmc so he would have to waive it, but i think this is a decent trade for colorado as they are not yet ready to contend and get another 2 first round picks basically and then Zaitsev to balance the cap.

"WHAT YEAR IS IT? " - Alan (Robin Williams in Jumanji)

Like I understand wanting Erik Johnson but that seems like an overpayment in giving up Liljegren.

He is not the same as his youth, so you will get an older version.

I would be very cautious taking on Johnson. He could very easily enter steep decline the back half of that deal. Then we are stuck with another boat anchor contract, and lost our most promising prospect for that position.

Erik Johnson isn't going anywhere. The transformation he has made in Colorado is amazing. He came here as an offensive minded dman. He has transitioned into a legitimate number 1 shut down dman. I mean no disrespect, in fact I find it strange no one has brought this up in media other than here in Colorado.

The last couple years, not this one, but previously it did get media attention that he got snubbed for All Stars games. He has matured better than I was ever hoping for, and the record proves it, when he's injured, they lose and vice versa. He is the heart of the D for sure.

Side notes: Varly needs to go. Earlier people were talking about Grubauer, he's not the future, Pavel Francouz is, he is a stud from czech republic, number 1 goalie in KHL last couple years. He only got in two games this season, allowed only 2 goals. Sakic told him he is in the plan before they sent him back to AHL, Sakic is very patient.

Zadorov is going to be great, but he's fallen out of favor with staff here, don't be surprised if he's on the block.

And about the Avs making a run at playoffs this year, not happening. They have lost all spark, looks like they're just going through the motions on the ice, breaks my heart to watch. Went from tied with Nashville going into December, now second to last in Central and can't put anything in the back of the net.
