Kings Trade
Doughty
6th Round Pick 2019

Leafs Trade
Kapanen
Zaitsev
Liljegren (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2019
4th Round Pick 2019 (Blues Pick)

If the Leafs where to pull this off I understand that Gardiner and Hainsey will be walking as UFA's as Doughty's contract would be to much for next year's Cap, with that said Rosen will take over Gardiner's spot Hainsey will be more difficult but not impossible, plus Zaitsev's 4.5 mill is off the books as well, Bracco might be called up with Kapanen Traded as he has really improved.

Thoughts?

The Kings would expect a much better package then this one.

My thoughts are you need to stop posting the same garbage proposals with minimal differences and understand none of these are remotely close to being realistic. You’re getting a top 3 dman in the league in Doughty and Kapanen is the main piece going back. That’s horrendous.

Much as I love have Doughty that won't get you him and his cap would kill us.

This beyond brutal, you need to stop posting these same trades over and over again my god none of them are good or even close to being good. Doughty is a top dman in the world like come on this is bad.

Doughty rumors are really heating up again. Leafs can’t afford him without moving significantly more salary than suggested here. Which means basically Nylander would have to be included.

This offer looks very similar to one put out in an article, written by a professional hockey analyst, in a real hockey e-zine. This wasn’t a rumour posted on a forum. It was legit. To quote the author: “It won’t be 2x1st, plus all those others, because Brian Burke doesn’t work in the NHL anymore and Doughty isn’t 21”.

As much as I love Doughty, I don’t think Leafs should pursue him anymore. We can’t afford him without losing at least one member of the core right away. And likely wouldn't be able to re-sign Rielly if he was on the team. And that 8 year contract of his is a bit much. Doughty, like Keith, could easily go into a steep decline the last half of that contract. It would cripple us as is. If he tanks, his contract would put a bullet right through the heart of the team.
