Colorado politely declines.

I can't see Col trading MacKinnon and Barrie for injury pron Matthews, who will want $12 mil plus next year, Gardner a UFA and Who, I mean Holl. Come on. This would make Colorado much weaker.

Colorado declines based on contract imo. Otherwise, i don't think its too bad. But theyd rather pay Mackinnon $6 then Matthews $11 tbh.

Mack is also the better player and will have half the salary Mathews is about to make.

That top line for Av’s is outstanding. They will be looking for secondary scoring to supplement that top line, not looking to disrupt it. Barrie might be available. And a trade based around Gardiner for Barrie isn’t so unreasonable. Toronto adds obviously, and a conditional of some sort is needed if Gardiner doesn’t re-sign. Colorado can afford to re-sign Gardiner and could really use a guy like him. Their left side is nowhere near as strong as the right side defense.

Av’s have come a long way in a short period of time. They don’t have the depth to seriously challenge for cup just yet. But anything can happen. They are looking like a team to really watch out for the next couple years. Once they start using all that cap space, look out. They can afford to bring in some big guns.

I'd take MacKinnon over Matthews myself regardless of salary. Aves say no but it was a nice try.

Remember everyone. Mack is starting to act like a baby, fighting with coach and stuff. His body language on ice is passing me off and costing the Avs. If he loses the puck or linemate does, he just quits, no follow through or fight. Just a few nights ago there was weird bounce after he quit, puck came out right in front of net, if he had followed up it would have been a goal, and his reaction on the ice said it all, he knew if he had put in the work, would've been a goal.

I do know the Avs wanted Nylander bad, the chatter around here now is Kevin Hayes, but NY would have to sign and trade. USA I believe end of this year
