Fair trade but no from oilers as they’re not in position to trade Nurse.

Oiler’s are looking for RW. I just finished reading an article about their lack of scoring and need for RW to help offense. Kapanen is a very good player who would do well inEdmonton. Being as they just addd a handful of defensemen, it’s possible Nurse could be made available. I know none of the guys the year brought in are all that great, but they do have the depth now once all their injured players return.

I like this proposal. Nurse is great. Would love to have him on the team. Losing Kapanen would suck. But trading from position of strength to address position of weakness makes sense.

Nurse is a legit top 4 Dman. Kapanen is a middle 6 forward. This deal favours Leafs fairly significantly in my opinion.

Based on Edmonton’s dire need of quality D I can’t see Nurse getting traded. yet. Oilers D will eventually look better. Klef-Lars, nurse-bouch, Jones-bear/ Persson potentially.
If nurse gets traded it’ll be this summer. But I doubt he will be dealt.

What line has Kapanen been playing all year?

On pace for 30 goals and 50 points. That’s pretty solid. Worth a 3/ 4 defenseman imo. Even if Leafs need to add, it’s more like a throw-in than a significant piece.
