This is something that I would love to see happen as an oilers fan. At least, are the trades fair?
Oilers: Puljujarvi + Lucic
Canes: Ferland (RFA) and Canes have a cap space and get a strong prospect to play with Aho and Teravinen
Oilers: 1st rd pk 2019 + 2nd rd pk 2020 + Bear + Benson
Blues: Parayko (available)
Oilers: Talbot
Flyers: Simmonds
Both are UFAs. A risk Flyers take in order to get a good Goalie.
Oilers would have to trade someone like Benning for a backup goalie.
Line up:
Drai + McDavid + Chaison
Ferland + RNH + Simmonds
Rieder + Spooner + Caggiula
Khaira + Brodziak + Kassian
Zykov + Rattie
Klefbom + Larson
Nurse + Parayko
Sekera + Russel
Gravel

Not a chance a back up goalie gets you Simmonds, even if they are both going to be ufa Simmonds has much more value right now than talbot.

Either Pulj is massively overrated here or the negative value of Lucic contract is massively underestimated.

How do the other teams lose the trades?
1. The Canes get a pretty good prospect in Puljujarvi. He is only 20 years old. If he turns out to be what is expected, the Canes win this trade.
2. As a leafs fan, what would it look like if the leafs wanted Parayko? I mentioned the oilers give up a 1st and 2nd and 2 B prospects. That’s a good return.
3. Flyers need a goalie. Talbot could splice this issue for them.

I think the canes want immediate help on forward, not a what if? The trade for Parayko seems fair from what I know of the players. Why would Edmonton want to add more slow, physical payers? I love Simmonds and would like him on the leafs big time, but Edmonton doesn’t need more grit while losing a pretty good goalie.

2 things:
1) as I have explained to several leaf fans quantity doesn't equal quality. That's a sheet offer and does nothing for blues. You want to get parayko. Think drais. If not move along.
2) with petro out parayko is looking amazing playing 28 mins a night. He has finally found confidence in his slap shot and has been blasting it by the goalies.
I'm sure a few people will disagree.

Parayko return should be a A-prospect +2 first round pick (16 to 25 range) + roster player.

Oilers win all of these. The Simmonds one is just awful. No one pays value for a goalie who has lost confidence and lost his own net on his own team. They’re definitely not giving up their best trade chip for him. Philly has 6 goalies with talent and no confidence lol they don’t need to pay for another.
Also pulijarvi (or something very similar) is the cost to dump Lucic’s contract. So essentially you are getting 25 year old physical Ferland, who had a career year last year and is on pace to easily pass that production this season, for free lol that’s why it’s bad for other teams.

There is no reason to trade parayko. defiantly not a quantity for quality. I understand end fans don't trade drais. Well we don't trade parayko. A 1st 2nd and crap prospects are a no go.
Once again shattenkirk may have not gotten what I wanted but he got enough. I didn't hide afterwards. The pick we got was uses in getting schenn it worked out.
Still not getting parayko for that sheet.
