Doughtys $11 mill isn’t going to work. We will take Tofolis whole $4.6 if they retain on doughty for 8 years lol.

If there was a way cap wise, I’d do that trade. Playing with good players I think Tofoli would be a 60pt Guy also. Nylanders a lot more dynamic so I would t say they are wash by any means but he could replace a lot of his current production. And a late 1st, Johnsson who I see as a career 3rd liner and One of those 2 Dmen, preferably liljegren because doughty and zaitsev would be Locked in on RHD for a long time and Gardiner would have to walk, leaving Rielly, Dermott, Sandin for L side.

LA shoots that one down I’m sure. Very significant offer. But given that LA just re-signed Doughty long term, and at high cost, I’m pretty sure they consider him the face of the franchise. Leafs would have a hard time affording Doughty’s $11M salary as well. Would love Doughty on the team. Still the best in the game. Having a hard time seeing it ever happen though.

I say no. With Tavares signed for 11 mill, Matthews will be in or around 12 mill and Marner 8-9 mill, having Doughty at 11 mill will be absolutely crazy.

I'm not sure. But I don't do it if I'm the leafs that contract is just too much to take on going forward.
