Unlikely Scenario, but considering EK most likely wants out of OTT. what if.

Erik Karlsson to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Drew Doughty.

Maybe picks and prospects added in; maybe Rieder, Ladue + 2nd goes to Ottawa while Dzingel + Harpur go to LA. or something like that? I'd assume EK has more value than Doughty tho.

This is simply because finding a suitable trading partner for EK is hard. And finding a suitable trade for EK is also hard; if Ottawa is getting 'pieces' back, and not a 'star', they're losing the trade, plain and simple.

As for this, its simply that EK wants out of Ottawa, and Ottawa needs a completely fresh look, and Doughty could help with that,

For LA, after a couple years of failure, I would have to think they need a shakeup: losing to the Sharks, expansion Knights and not making the playoffs does such. Trading away their best player for an equal talent shakes the dynamic of the team, and may help to make LA a more offensive team, compared to the defensive style they played w Doughty.

And both players have 1 year term left, so that balances too.

I’m not sure If Doughty has any say in if he gets traded or not but there is 0% chance he will welcome a trade going to Ottawa. However if he doesn’t have any NMC well then sucks for him because i'm sure Kings take a good look if they can get EK.

The Senators are a raging dumpster fire at the moment. The owner is a cheapskate and consistently mettles in the operations to the detriment of the team. There are MULTIPLE scandals surrounding the team that are not going away anytime soon. The team is going to be hot garbgae next year and as it currently stands, will not have their own first round pick. They are the league's doormat.

Is Ottawa a nice place to live? Sure. Would any player looking for a chance to win in the near future want to play there? No. They are a joke.

If MELNICK was as cheap Ryan wouldn't be making 7.25 right now and alfie and Heatley spezza wouldn't have gotten the contracts they did. that's just hear say. he's just a spoiled rich guy who acts like a fool and hired the wrong replacement for murray. Hoffman will likely be traded. Randy Lee if found guilty will be fired. drama gone.
