MON- Shaw
EDM- Lucic

Bad contract swap. Lucic has the slightly worse contract with an extra year and an extra million. But he’s the better player so I’m not sure if the Oilers would have to add. Also Lucic said he was open to a trade and Montreal pushed hard for him two years ago.

Montreal doesn’t have much depth on the left wing, especially after Pacioretty is gone so Lucic would be a good addition. Shaw has played center right? Could be a good right shot 4th center for the Oil.

Ummmm how bout no unless Edmonton retains about a million on lucics contract or gives them a second round pick or decent prospect.

Lucic will probably get back to maybe a 45 point guy which Shaw has never been, I’d say he’s worth a bit more money.

I actually made a mistake and he makes 2 million more. I would say the Oil would consider retaining a million but that would make the cap hits a wash and I think Lucic is worth more than Shaw if they have nearly the same contract.

You say Montreal doesn’t have much depth on Left Wing. Its is the position with the most depth with Pacioretty, Drouin, Galchenyuk and Shaw. In a real world, Galchenyuk and Drouin are LW.

retains more than a million and sweetens the pot with like a second or third.

One of Drouin or Galchenyuk will be playing center, as I said Pacioretty will probably be gone and after this trade Shaw will be gone. Also most depth charts I see are him in the right wing?

in your dreams hell no from Montreal shaw is a bit overpayed and he is 26 and is good in defence and can play bottom line center role and is good in faceoffs. Keep Lucic mo one wants him.
