Montreal: edm 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, 2019 2nd

Edmonton: Pacioretty, Andrew Shaw, Jordie Benn

Montreal gets rid of shaws contract and gets to draft Kotkaniemi as well as Zadina and they can trade or use all the second round picks they own now however.

Edmonton gets an easy 30 goal scorer/ 60 pt player in pacioretty to play with mcdavid, they get a mid 20s andrew shaw who puts up decent points and works hard when he's healthy, also they get jordie benn a good solid 5/6 defenseman to help there young d core and he is signed for cheap. Edmonton has the cap to do this as well.

Just like a base of the trade, the 2nds could be changed or montreal may hold some cap. Either team may give or take a little bit.

Kotkaniemi and zadina could be 2nd or 3rd line interchangeable depending on how good they are next year or if they both make it even right away. Thoughts?

Edmonton tells you to never call back and hangs up.

Jordie Benn is basically only a 4th round pick (like he was traded for).

Habs fans, Please just stop with this kind of delusion. You're not getting a 1st and two 2nds from Edm for that.

No from EDM. Also think that Kotkaniemi is a few yrs out from playing in the nhl.

You guys say the same thing to every trade if you actually paid attention to hockey maybe you would understand. Its actually not a crazy trade at all. Stasty who is a few years older went for a first and a 4th at the deadline and nash got traded for spooner belesky 1st round ryan lindgren and a 7th both trafes were at the deadline and they are both older than pacioretty. Patches could easily get a first and second round pick on his own especially w his contract for amother year plus andrew shaw is like 26 and could probably get a second round pick if not with ben in there too they would get that other second or a third. With cap retentions involved to pretty normal trade.

Value aside, there's a thing called a salary cap.

Oilers have $5 million in cap space and their going to find room for these guys? Also Seattle coming and your giving up picks that would otherwise be protected?
