Im a leaf fan but curious as to what you guys would want for your 10th overall.

TOR: 25th overall, Gardiner
EDM: 10th overall

Gardiner would easily be your best puck moving defencemen, you would then be easily able to move Klefbom and have someone capable of replacing him. He brings something you don't really have on the back end. Would you guys want more? I could see Kapanen being real dominate with McDavid, he's a goal scoring RW.

I’d rather keep the pick from Toronto’s POV. This draft is average at best and the skill gap between 10 and 25 probably won’t be that much. Leafs also need as much help on D as they can get so trading away a 50 point defenseman might not be exactly ideal.

Why the F would Edm trade that pick for another leftie?
If they are trading that pick it's in a package to bring a lot better if a D man than Gardiner back. And probably a right handed shot.
This is a terrible proposal all around.

I get the LHD vs RHD arguement and you might not want Gardiner but people have to remember that the guy played 82 regular season games and 6 playoff games before that awful game 7. That’s the taste left in everyone’s mouth because it was the last game of the year. Everyone (almost) has terrible nights and if he had played 2 nights later, no one would talk about him the same. It’s already been shown here how superior his numbers are to guys like Justin Faulk (who gets a lot of praise from the same guys that put down Gardiner) and others. He’s a good player, 28 years old and makes $4mill coming off his best season of his career. You should just trade for another RHD who is better like griffin Reinhart again I guess.

Well it’s the same guy in charge who traded 3 times as much as that for Adam Larsson and twice as much as that for Griffin Reinhart. Think about it, he might.

Lol ya the guys pretty much a train wreck. I for one am kind of big on the righty lefty thing though. Reinhart made no sense even for a third of what they paid and also the Russel signing made zero sense.
