Toronto: Max Pacioretty and Jeff Petry*

Montreal: Timothy Liljegren and 23rd overall

*30% retained on Perry's contract

Toronto: Gets a top line LW sniper who'd be the finisher on the top PP and on the 1st line and Petry at 3.5 mil to play with Rielly

Montreal: gets very good value back. 2 1st round picks.

It says 30% retained on Perry contract but I mean Petry.

Hard pass from the leafs. Besides, when was the last time Montreal traded their captain to their biggest rival?

Only way I would trade liljgren is if a good top 4 dman was coming back in return.

Petry is a good 4th dman.

Why trade two pieces of value, one of which is possibly a future top4 in Toronto, for a winger, which we have plenty of.? Sure our wingers way not all be as good as Patches, but Toronto should not be one of the teams in on Patches, we have way too kuch wing depth to need even more.

I just found it a little bit painful watching Nylander/ Hyman as the finishers on Mathews line and I think he’d help there pp and the top line out substantially.

Ok so you would accept this trade? Petry is an excellent top 4 D who just had 42 points and played over 28 minutes/ games and at 4.2 million for 3 years its bargain. Plus he's just 28. So again when you say only way I would trade Lilijegreen is for a good top 4 D well It means that you would accept this trade.

Jeff Petrys ATOI was 23:30. The highest ATOI in the NHL was drew Doughty with 26:50. Not 28.

Wtf? Petry is 30 years old, And makes $5.5M per season. 3 years left with a modified NTC that kicks in now and a full NMC. You're a little off on your own player Colt.

Liljegren is the youngest player in the AHL and playing 17 min a game on a first place team in a deep playoff run. Jury is still out on him for sure, but he seems to be passing all the tests and I have zero interest in bringing pacioretty to Toronto. Petry would be a nice stop gap, but like I said last time this type of thing was posted, I’d take him for a year, not 3. Imagine if you didn’t have the cap space to even offer a contract to doughty, Karlsson or OEL next summer because you brought in Petry lol not the first move Dubas wants to make.
