Gardiner for Brodie is fair. Honestly Bodie might hold next to no value after the season he just had. Nylander for Bennet is not close.

Dude you’re hilarious. “Next to no value”. Are you for real?! His season wasn’t that bad. He faced top competition most of the way.
However, I would say, as a Flames fan, that CGY would have to add a bit to that.
Maybe take out Nylander and add Kapanen and a 3rd.

His value dropped a lot. He was -16 this season on a decent team with only 32 points. No he dosent have next to no value but it has dropped significantly. He’s worth a mid 1st and a decent prospect.

@Yup, you’re basing his value on a single game?! Lol that’s the dumbest thing I’ve seen you say. It was an atrocious game, can’t argue that. But 52 points and a +9 rating this season vs Brodie’s 32 pts and -16 (in 9 less games) . I’m not saying Brodie is as bad as this season was for him, but if you can judge Gardiner on a single game, it’s far more than fair to judge Brodie on 73 games. I remember Draisaitl having a terrible game against the hawks and single handily caused the hawks tying and OT goals that game. That must mean he is far less valuable than Tyler bozak, because he never did that this year lol dumb.

Yes it was a terrible game for Gardiner and yup is one that has said in the past that +/ - is a ridiculous statistic, unless it’s a leaf. Gardiner clearly needs to work on some things and they should find him a stay at home d man to play with. Zaitsev had a down year but I still don’t think he’s the right fit with Jake. Leafs need a big, physical d man as well as a legitimate #1 before they will contend. Sign Dalton Prout as a 6-7 d man for when you play the tough teams.

Nope not basing of a single game at all. I believe Brodie has a lot more value than Gardiner. Way before that last Leafs game. And I don't honk Gardiner is worth a mid first AND decent contract, at all.

@Yup: You say you’re not only basing it on one game, but all you brought up to diminish his value was one game lol and then just say with no other info that Brodie has more value when their recent seasons say quite the opposite. Last year Gardiner had 43 pts and a +24, Brodie was 34 pts and a -16 again. Remember when you said “stats aren’t opinion, they’re facts” and “you can’t argue the numbers” when talking about RNH over Drouin?!

Why can you just disregard gardiners numbers and arbitrarily claim Brodie’s more valuable?! Both have similar contracts too.

Gardiners bad game means he’s worth less than another similar player who he has out performed for 2-3 straight seasons, but draisatls doesn’t hurt his value.

RNH has more points and better +/ - than Drouin so it’s a scientific fact he’s better, but Gardiner kills Brodie in pts and +/ - over two years and Brodie’s better?!
