Mtl gets a real #1 center and Cal gets a great top 6 gritty winger and a second line center or top 6 winger. Mtl also gets Anderson

Calgary has a gritty winger, tkachuk. And he’s way better than galchenyuk and Gallagher. They aren’t giving you a number one centre to get a worse version of what they already have.

Number one centers seem to be the hardest position to fill these days. and although not a Superstar in the light of McDavid, Crosby, and potentially Mathews. he is really good. a number one. Teams take years to find one. ( look at Habs) ) . so. Calgary isn't going to trade Monohan.

Monahan could very plausibly be a point per game player and is an elite player. He is worth more than 2 middle six players. Also makes 0 sense for Calgary in every way possible.
