JUST A RUMOUR

(I'm not the one making up this trade)

MTL - Robert Thomas, Jake Allen and (STL) 2018 1st Round Draft Pick
or
MTL - Robert Thomas, Carter Hutton, (STL) 2018 and 2019 1st Round Draft Pick

STL - Carey Price

Write down in the replies how awful of a trade this would be.

It would be good for both teams as far as I'm concerned it would probably make stl cup favourites.

mtl is stuck with that brutal contract.

I read that the original offer was Allen with Thomas and the 1st, and MB countered with the Hutton offer. Personally, I'd rather have the Allen offer. Cause with Price on the Blues, the firsts will be low, and i'd rather have Allen than Hutton even if Allen is struggling. Hutton is having a good strtech, Allen has more potential and is younger.

Yes price really hasn't been good this year but our defence is not helping and if we trade price I'm pretty sure we would want an already proven young asset in return but not comment8ng on the value posted.

Yea... you 2 are both habs fans. STL wouldn't even consider the second proposal

Not even close.
No way Stl can get Price for only Thomas + Allen + 2 1st .
Not to mention that theses picks will almost be secound round with a player like Carey in Stl
If you trade Carey for a pick' the value of the pick will decrease a lot.

St. Louis would definitely be cup favorites. I don’t know anything about Thomas but he better be an A prospect. That’s a lot of cap space going only in one direction.

Every habs fan overvalues price. He has a bad contract (10.5 million for 8 years) which is terrible considering he is almost 31. So you basically want 3 first rounders (2 1sts plus thomas who was a first round) as well as Hutton who has the best save percentage in the NHL. LMAOOO

Hammond had the best percentage so as Budaj
They still aren't close to the caliber of carey
This is a no effort from Stl.

I posted this a week ago and no one really believed me.
With Stastny and his $7M done after this season, Allen $4.35 going to Montreal, The Blues actually could make it work. With Their keys guys Senko, Petro, Schwartz, Schenn, Parayko all locked up and no one really coming up that will demand a huge contract any time soon, They are def interested in Price. JayBo $5.4M gone after next season. Could look to move Steen $5.75 even tho he has a NTC. Lots of young ELC talent coming up always a good thing. They could make a deal like this and are def in a win now mode for years to come. Prices contract would be worth it if they were to win a cup or two with him.

This was on here earlier this week when it first came out. Philly owns blues 2018 first round pick already (Schenn trade) And if it’s A top 10, which it won’t be, then Philly owns the blues 2019 1st round pick. I think blues would rather do the one with Allen, because then it’s only one 1st round pick and they can keep a good cheaper back up in Hutton. Blues would be a favourite for 4-5 years and habs can start their rebuild (a year or two late) . I think it kinda makes sense for both teams I just really don’t see it happening because in the Allen one, they either give up a top 10 pick in 2018 or habs have to wait for the pick till 2020 which makes no sense for starting a rebuild.

It’s fake, unless a lot of cap is going back to Montreal so St. Louis can fit that 10.5 cap hit, I doubt it would ever go through. They have barely projected 200K in cap space, Allen has under 5 mill as a cap hit, this said “proposal” is a week old, even if a variant of it were true, It probably wouldn’t take this long to accept, but who knows.

Flying V prices big contract don't kick in till next year yup explained above how stl can fit it in.

If you think Carey Price was good in Montreal in recent years just imagine him playing on a team with actual defence in front of him. St. Louis is s good team, their 3-4 year window is now so I’d make that trade. Adding price makes them by far the most dangerous team for the next few years. Sign the papers make the trade and enjoy your first Stanley cup St. Louis.

Allen makes 4.35, price makes 6.5 till July 1st. Then price makes 10.5 which means a 4 mill raise and statsny alone makes 7 mill. So by not resigning statsny, they can have price instead of Allen, and 3mill surplus for another player or other raises and that’s of the cap doesn’t go up which it’s expected to go up 3-5 mill. Missing the point Flying V.

No! Not another goalie Trade, I’m tired of goalie trades here. Price would be awesome here, but his age, contract and the prospects and draft picks cost too much. Scoring is what the Blues need, it’s what they’ve always needed every year. Miller didn’t work out and without scoring I doubt Price will either. And as a fan of the Blues for the past 30 years watching them get bounced out of the playoffs every year hurts! Now these top two or three prospects have been talked about allot here, Thomas, Kyrou are looking like they are legit! But even so, neither would be off limits if it helped win now. Blues should find a trade partner for Bowmeester, Bergland. Maybe get a couple picks for them and dump they’re salary. Stasny would be another one but we’d really need to bring in a center then? But if the Blues can make some cap room, get a few more pics, then they could trade one of those top prospects for scoring.
