Vegas goes all in this year...they have the room to swallow the contract. MTL rids themselves of the contract, pick up high picks. Since Vegas will be picking low, maybe toss in one of their other 2nd in 2019.

Lol. Vegas isn't giving up their 1st his year for Weber when their plan is to build for the future through the draft. That will automatically a top 6 pick no matter where they finish. Get same lottery odds as if they finished 3rd last.

I could have sworn I read or heard it was same odds as 3rd pick for their first three season. To help them get a team going sooner.
I'm trying to find that info. And I could be very wrong. I thought they were helping them out to become competitive/ little successful sooner cause they were worried about their on ice product and gaining fan traction.
It might just be their first year. My bad.
Which we now know is not a worry. Lol.
