The 4 years is AFTER his current 2 years expire, so 6 years total. Anything more than current contract +4 and he's starting to get to that age where injuries start piling up and play declines making his salary a tad much for what he provides. If he's still as healthy as a horse at the end of the 6 years. Certainly Re-negotiation can occur to suit both parties for salary and term.

Yeah or we have Draisaitl for his entire prime of his career and Oilers have 2 #1 centerman in the lineup, just like
Crosby/ Malkin.
