Overvaluing Pacioretty there bud. I wouldn't trade Toffoli for Patches straight up

So Toffoli is better, younger and on a better contract yet the kings add?

Hahaha. I love it when hab haters assume everyone else in the league is better than habs. Toffoli is close but clearly not better than Pacioretty. Just look up the stats and do a little research before commenting please. Also Toffoli make $100,000 more. Just saying.

LOOOOOL in your dreams the Kings do this.

Making basically identical money but to follow contract going till 2020 makes it a better contract. Whoever trades for patches either loses him or gives him a massive raise while toffoli is still making 4.6mill. That’s why it’s a better contract. not difficult.

All things considered, I would take Tofoli over Pacioretty right now.

I would hate to lose Patches. would love to get Toffoli however. Can't see it happening.
Maybe Habs should try and use Patches to get a true center to Montreal, one to have Drouin as his winger.
Is there any deal to be made with Patches and a big add, to BUY for Tavares in a sign and trade.?

Again with that $5M retained. you can only retain a max of 50% and i'm pretty sure he is a free agent at the end of the year so doesn't even have $5M left to be paid out on his contract.

Pacioretty scored over 30goals in the last 5 of 6 seasons with subpar centremans. And the only one he didn't was because he played only 44 games. Please hab haters stop undervaluing players because they play for the habs.

Start the rebuild . I think it's a little of both. we overrate (Not saying you), they underrate. not really any middle ground.
Patches IMO doesn't get the credit he deserves. If he would have had a true number one, he very well coulda flirted with 50 in a season. almost got 40 with Desjarnais. Biggest mistake, IMO was giving him the C, keep the A, but jus let him play. Give it to Weber, he's built for that. This season you can see him struggling more than Ever, and I think he needs less pressure. I don't want to see him traded, however if that is the path they take, i'd like to see him in a deal that would make more of a difference in Montreal than, say a Toffoli would. A bigger deal with more parts going towards a true number one (yes In thinking Tavares lol)

@sosa, you make some good points but as a leaf fan, I watched kessel flirt with 40 goals playing mostly with bozak as his centreman and a carousel of LW including a bit of JVR, some Lupul and then a terrible list including Joey Crabb (you’re saying “who the hell is joey crabb?! ”) . We all said when he gets traded to Pittsburgh and has elite centreman, and be on the PP with sid, geno, letang horny etc he’ll hit 50 for sure. After having 30+ for 6 straight seasons including 37 twice in Toronto, he had 26 and 23 as a penguin in 2 full 82 game seasons. Sometimes guys need better line mates to be better, but sometimes guys are as good as they’re going to be with mediocre linemates because they’re always going to be the go to option on those lines. Just a thought.

True Jim. And yes I remember Joey Crabb lol. hmm. where is he now?
Ya, I guess who really knows. Seems like Patches is gettig the same treatment Kessel received in Toronto at the end if his tour.

I think they’re extremely similar. Both really good snipers, who unfortunately don’t bring much else when they’re not scoring. And like you said about giving Weber the C, o thought that should happen the moment they traded for him. Patches and kessel are really good players, but if they are your best player, and the guy you try to build around, you’re not going to be a good team. Patches will be a good support player on a much better team like kessel is now.
