The oilers are just in a slump. They were underachieving last year as well. The refs always against the alberta teams too doesn't help

I know they’re just in a slump flamer but the refs against Alberta teams? That’s news to me.

Did Wideman ruin it for the entire province?

No but there always seems to be poor officiating towards the oilers and flames. The only 2 teams i watch so i notice it alot

I could see if Wideman still played for Calgary there would be a possible motive but I’m sure the refs aren’t out to get you. It’s probably the only reason Wideman doesn’t have a job right now. I think he’d still be a serviceable defenseman.

Flamer you seem like an alright guy. If the Alberta teams are the only 2 teams you watch, how are you so certain that “Nurse can easily get a better package” in my proposal yesterday? Jake is becoming a well rounded defenseman, showing why he also went in the 1st round. He still makes mistakes like everyone else, the mistakes are just highlighted more when you play for the leafs. Nurse is a good defenseman as well and I like his style, which is why I want him on the leafs. If the leafs make the playoffs, they need to be tougher. I think the reason Edmonton did so well in the playoffs last year is partially because they are big and tough.

I do watch highlights of other teams but Gardner seems to be improving but the whole life team is impressive right now. Just cause gardiner is doing good now doesn't mean his value booms. Its been half a season and he really hasn't been impressive the last couple of seasons. Nurse is young and gritty. He plays a pretty solid shut down role aswell. And i believe he could acquire a good winger just like Larsson - Hall trade. Nurse for Marner would possibly be a very fair trade now and in the long run. I don't think oil should give up a dman which (they need) but they also need more scoring. Tricky move but their best bet is to acquire a forward or defencemen for a pick and or prospect.

Habs look at your team loool no room to beak anybody. Your team traded one of the hottest defencemen right now for an average RW. And now wanna trade your captain cause your gm is trash. Your team rips on its own players and has Weber, Pacioretty, Price, Drouin and still suck.

Fair enough flamers but Gardiner was actually better last year IMO. He struggled a bit this season but seems to be getting back on track. You’re absolutely right about Nurse having a better defensive game. I’m hoping the leafs can get a gritty shut down defenseman without giving up Marner or Nylander. I think they’d be stupid to trade one of them before we see what Liljegren brings to the table.
