Big no from Edmonton. They don't need to get older and slower. Plus ain't nuge better than ryan?

Maybe Hoffman would be a deal?

Nuge for Hoffman I’d do yup.

I would lol. Ottawa won't give up hoffman for nuge. Hoffman is the better player anyways and if they did that, nuge would be their 3rd or 4th line center, (Duchene, Brassard, Pageau, Nuge)

Crazy I'm a fan of both teams. I can say this full heartedly Nuge is far beyond than Hoffman. Nuge would be Ottawa's 1st/ 2nd. Brassard would bump down to the 3rd line. Nuge 200ft game is really really good. Hoffman plays well in spurts and really just has a lethal shot when he can actually aim at the net.

Hell no from edmonton. ryans contract is awful.

Nuge for Hoff could work 4sure tho.

for this Nuge for hoff thing, I think value is there, but Hoff is our only top-6 LW and Center is our strength right now, so not much need for another top-6 LHC.

Nuge definitely would not be 3rd or fourth line in ottawa most likely 2nd line.

But Hoffman is still worth more than nuge as he's far more consistent averaging between 60 and 70 points a year as does Ryan.

Ryan coming off a health issue affected worst year of his career where he bounced back in playoffs and is currently on pace to a 0.75 point per game average this year.

Considering this is arguably the best year of nuges career so far only because every other teams focus is on shutting down mcdavid leaving him wide open, i'd say Ryan is definitely worth nuge straight up.

Until this year the nuge contract was considered just as bad as the Ryan contract was last year. plus with mcdavid as his center theirs no doubts that Ryan could surpass his Anaheim totals in edmonton thus earning that contract. while nuge could go either way in ottawa.

In terms of trade value and skill

Ryan = nuge
Hoffman > nuge

Consistency matters!

Edmonton says no to the ryan trade for sure, i agree with hoff i think hoffman for RNH is close to fair value but ottawa doesn't really have a need for another centerman at the cost of a top 6 winger.
