Boedker and Draisaitl had some chemistry at the World Cup. Big contract for big contract. Russell has more points than Boedker so the pick is needed.

I don't mind it.
As much as I really like Russell. I would hope if he were to be traded that his spot would be upgraded with a better D in the off season. Get a good top 4 d man somehow. Not even sure who I would target or be available in the off season actually. Not doughty or Karlsson. Someone like a Faulk (he could be available but price would be pretty high and understandably so) .

Honestly I was very skeptical when we signed Russell but now I’m enjoy having him on Edmonton. However I’d for sure take this trade imo. Still not a fan of signing him for 4 years.

I really wanted Edmonton to sign Boedker over Lucic last off season. He isn’t doing anything with San Jose so I could see them trading him easily.
And ya I agree yup upgrading with a RHD would make perfect sense. It would give Oil a deep blue line IMO.

Also Haglin is the fastest player in the NHL but number 2/ 3/ 4 are Boedeker, Larkin and McDavid respectively ( according to records takin during Rangers/ Arizona practices and the All Star game. Boedeker and McDavid would be scary on the rush.
