Why is this unbelievable? Just looking to understand. Tanev is sweet and one of the best stay at home defencemen in the league so generally I would think he would be worth more but Connor Brown is super overrated and thus his value is bloated. Toronto is looking for a top pairing defenceive defenceman in his prime, and Vancouver is looking to get younger and rebuild; therefore, I see this as a win for both teams. I would love some feed back.

I think the canucks would rather keep tanev, but that's just my opinion. Defence are more valuable than wingers, let alone a top 4 RH defender for bottom 6 winger.

Brown is a bottom 6 winger due to circumstance, not skill. I get why Canucks would say no. But the kid has 30 goals and almost 60 pts in his first 120 NHL games playing 3rd and 4th line. He’s only a bottom six because leafs have an insanely deep forward group. I respect Canucks fans saying no, but it’s not like you’re getting Dominic Moore and 2 seconds. Brown would be a top 9 on 90% of the rosters in the league and could be a top 6 on a few.
