Not my idea, read somewhere.

Oil: Maroon/ slepyshev + Caleb Jones 3rd

Sens: Hoffman

Report I saw is sens want a high draft pick and a young defensive prospect as potential return.
The proposal I saw is as above, and wondering what people think of that.

Don’t see where the young D and high pick is? Jones might be young and a D but usually it would say prospect D if they want him. Young D when reported usually means NHL ready or experienced. And 3rd round pick is not a high pick. A 3rd line winger, decent D prospect and a 3rd is not getting you a top line winger lol just compare that package to other teams again and see if it’s enough. Komarov (maroon), dermott (Jones) and a 3rd. I would exp cut to be laughed at as a leafs fan for that.

And before you tell me maroon is way better than komarov, they were both 6 round picks, komo is a year older, he spent years in Europe developing while maroon was in the minors and both became full time NHLers near the same time. Both LW, similar point totals, maroons best season he broke 20 goals and 40 pts for the first time while playing with mcdavid, komo had 19g and 36pts playing 15 less games with bozak.

I see it says prospect. Jones may work for them then. But the pick and maroon/ slepy is bad.

Another dude basing value solely on points^ jim, compare hits per season, there is many things other than points that make a player good.

If you're talking about hits @Shoots, you want Matt Martin? there's a crapton of hits there. Plus, prior to this year, Komarov threw a ton of hits.

He also bases a players value or skill set on where he was drafted. 🙄🙄.

Like I said, I saw this so it wasn’t my idea haha just posted it and I agree Ottawa would want more just I posted what I read from somewhere else.

Yup bases a players value by what team they play for. 🤔.

@MJC

Just wondering, if Ottawa wanted Yamamoto + some extras, would you be willing?

Like possibly, Yamamoto + Slepyshev + 2nd for like Hoffman + Tom Pyatt + 4th?

Idk. And no, i'm not tryna start a fight or anything. that's how I value Hoff, perenial 50+ point guy.

Are you guys crazy? I’m not going to get started on value but I’ll say this Hoffman is a 1st line LW who consitantly pots 25 Goals with potential for 30. This is why Ottawa dosent do this. A. Why would a team trade there top LW for a veteran 3rd line grinder as the main peice huge latteral move anyway you look at it. B. Value C. Both prospects carry almost no value to any team besides there own.

It would be a 1st for Hoffman with no major add ins. Maybe Slepy or even Maroon. Who Ottawa could flip again at deadline or Slepy can take the roster spot. Not sure what they would want. Or maybe a 1st + Jones even. Again, Or sure what they would want with the 1st. But it could work.
Hope it can work out. Not sure how cap would work next year tho as I hope with the cap going up we can just keep Nuge.

I would give a 1st for Neal in a heartbeat. Neal's contract expires after this season. Hoffman still has one more season on contract next year. So I think there would have to be something added to a 1st for that extra year. Nothing major tho, not Nurse, or Moto, or Bear or Puljujarvi.
I think Neal Hoffman are pretty close in value. Both great wingers.
