not sure if edmonton needs a lwr but he is good. Bear is also a nice asset. But i would think an A lvl prospect elc is worth more than a 25-30 goal scorer with 2 years. You would have to take maroon or another cap equivalent player back. Oilers need to watch their cap.

As for the st. louis deal that won't work blues can not take on 5 mil already at the cap. I just don't see a possible solution for the blues. Det would have to retain or take gunnerson and another 1mil person then at that point you wouldn't get schmaltz. it just doesn't make sense. Need to trade Jaybo to free up money.

First one, i think STL says no. Isnmt Schmaltz good? I thought he was a pretty highly touted prospect before. hm. And a second isn't just a minor addon. And Gus has fallen off, he's more just a 40 point guy.

Sexond one, Ottawa says no. Idk how Edmonton says no @yup. Only for cap reasons, I woukd think. But still, Bear and a 3rd is basically like Dermott and 2nd if I'm thinking Torontos perspective. And even with Torontos forward depth, that's a hell yes from Toronto. So yeah, besides cap, Edmonton takes that.

I'm saying I don't think Edm who is very high on Bear doesn't want to let that go for a winger.
Bear is a right handed very offensive point per game 70 points in 67 games last year and 65 points in 67 games the year before. Played unreal in playoffs for Seattlw thunderbirds as well named whl D man of the year.
With no money going out bringing in $5.1M (mixed him up, my bad thought was $6M) for a winger with two more years on contract. Might not be the best idea cap wise.
I would include bear in a trade for Karlsson tho, easily.

I agree if the Oilers were able to get Hoffman for Bear and a 3rd they should take it, but Bear has improved a ton since being drafted. If they did a re draft now (early I know) I'm pretty sure he'd be a 2nd rounder at worst. He was the WHL dman of the year last year and a right shot PP quarterback is something the Oilers are really lacking right now. Hopefully he can fill that role in a couple years.

Pretty easy no from Edmonton. Like said, Bear is in the mold of exactly what Edmonton needs on the point and Hoffman is like 8 years older and making 6mil? Like on what planet does that make sense for Edmonton adding more cap when they don’t have the space.

I said I would include him in a deal for Karlsson, yes, because then we would have the right handed offensive D we want and not groom Bear into that position hopefully anymore. I did say hopefully, not saying it's a for sure thing, again, relax.
A package around maybe Drai, Bear, 1st for Karlsson is probably close. They might ask for Nurse or Klefbon instead of Bear tho. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure what to think if Drai, Bear and 1st for Karlsson would be on the table. I would be torn. Especially if Karlsson wants $12M+ for 8 years at age 29 when that 8 year deal would kick in. I think I would lean to wanting to stay away from that contract maybe, especially for those 3 young solid assets.

No, they wouldn’t take that offer Hoff. They would say klefbom is a stud and you should add in White. I’ve seen offers from habs fans on here for RNH that are better than this one for Hoffman and yup has called them delusional and “hell no from oilers”. I know RNH is a centre and therefore gets a little premium on Hoffman, however Hoffman is far better offensively which evens it out, plus makes a million dollars less. It’s just overvaluing their own players, and every fan base is guilty of doing it at times. But if you’re going to always be ‘that guy’ who calls everyone else on it, have to expect to hear about it when you do the exact same thing.

It’s so hard to understand because it’s been reported that they’re looking for a scoring winger, sens misfortune let's one possibly become available, someone makes a suggestion at a reasonable price and the same guys dismiss it who get their backs up the other way. Gotta think of the cap and age too. Two more years of Hoffman for a guy who is a big part of your future you're hoping (the oilers I believe are high on him) call me insane to think that. Hoping the cap goes to around $80M so they can possibly keep Nuge I don't think then they would be able to add $5M Hoffman for just an pick and prospect and no money going out. They would then trade maroon at deadline for sure then.
Maybe this kind of deal for this team close to cap with Mcdavids contract coming in next year and the uncertainty of the cap. Maybe this is a better deal to discus in the off season when you know the cap, know which RFA and others you are signing to see if you can bring in a $5M winger for your best D prospect
