Its going to take much more than a guy whos trade value has become abysmal (Galchenyuk, due to his diminished role) and a struggling AHL goalie to get a top pairing dman. Try again.

My initial instinct is to say hell no because I am so down on what galchenyuk is to offer and fucale is still an echl goalie which the canes have 2 better prospects than already. But that first, if not lottery protected is looking like it could be a svechnikov or dahlin pick. However it's too early to bank on that. If habs are still terrible by the deadline, canes might take a chance on a lottery pick plus galchenyuk.

So, Carolina, who will be in playoff contention this season, are willing to give up a top notch defenseman. I don't think so.
Maybe for a #1 Centre, which Mtl doesn't have.
