A lot closer than the RNH one but still don't think it happens. Would love parayko for sure in Toronto but would hate to lose nylander. Think both teams might say no.

St. Louis still wouldn't go for it but the leafs need to keep Nylander. I'd rather see them get a shutdown defenseman anyways. I still think a deal could be made with Anaheim for Manson. Even after losing Theodore, they are still pretty stacked on D. Since JVR doesn't hold a ton of value because he is a free agent, maybe another proposal would work? Any ideas? I was thinking Kapanen, Carrick and a 1st?

Let's hear your ideas BigZ. In my opinion Manson is much better than Carrick. The 1st is probably going to be mid to late and the price for a RH d man is why I added Kapanen. Maybe Manson is not the answer but I think he is a solid shutdown defenseman and the leafs keep Mathews, Marner and Nylander.

I feel like that a lot to give up for a guy who isn't a top pairing dman. Carrick is a guy who I feel given time can become a decent second pairing dman. With any 1st this leaf managment/ scouting group is given i'm confident we will get a good pick so I believe the first is still quite valuable. and Kapanen is a really good prospect, should already be in the NHL, I can see him becoming a 50-65 pt player with great D and versatility. The problem with todays market is you have to way over pay to get a good dman and if the leafs should overpay it should be for the best dman out there if that makes sense. I think a trade for manson would have to include Kapanen because he would be the main piece in the trade. honestly kap+carrick+3rd is what i'd give up, I know that Ana probs wouldn't accept but imo its not worth it. maybe a package of Kapanen and Dermott/ Nielsen would be better.

Can't trade nylander his chemistry with mathews is to important to give up.

Kapanen, Carrick and a 3rd sounds good to me. Make the call. Trading for a top pairing d man would cost one of the young stars and more. I'd rather they wait for Liljegren to develop. Manson would be a nice fit with Reilly and Hainsey could move to the bottom pairing.

Both teams i think would refuse, both players too important to their respective team. but i feel value-wise, this is pretty damn even.

I love hearing that a first isn't worth much because it's going to be mid to late, and in the exact same response be excited for Liljegren who was just selected 17th (mid to late) lol.
