Blues would be a bit better at center, yes. They would also be a heck of a lot worse on D. 6'5" 23 or 24 year old RHD that can play all situations? How are they going to replace that? They let shattenkirk go because they had parayko.

Blues are not willing to trade parayko. As for the whole center thing have you seen schenn. He has 1 goal 3 assist in 3 games looks amazing with swartz. So we're good.

4 points in first 3 games doesn't mean schenn will keep that up. First 5-6 games every season there's guys with 6,7,8 points that will never be close to a point a game guy over a whole season. Still think the trade is awful for blues but ovechkin won't score 260goals like he was on pace for entering tonight, Jesper Bratt in NJ won't have 145 points and blues, leafs and golden knights won't be 82-0. Give it a cpl months before you claim schenn is the answer to top center void lol.

Never said he was the answer said he looks really good. The answer is one of the prospects blues have drafted. One of kyrou, thompson, Thomas hopefully. But for now schenn has been an upgrade.

It's not only points obviously. But for a guy to be a legit top centre I don't think his career high in points should be 33 in 6 seasons. He should be good in all situations and aspects of the game, and should be great in a cpl ways. Toews and kopitar are good at everything but great defensively. Mcdavid is good at everything and obviously great offensively. Crosby is great at everything. Even like a ryan johansen is good at everything. Don't see schenn or anyone else in St. Louis being close to that. And I don't see anyone in that group above being shopped for a late first and a cap dump.

Schenns highest was 59pts in 80gms. Also Jim the centers you listed were elite number 1 centers. I know schenn is nor in that group. Neither is rnh. But at this point and from Schenns past point production I know schenn is better than rnh. Not sure we're you got late first and cap dump from cause schenn cost 2 first and lehtera whose play has dropped so far he is spectator not a player right now.

Sorry a conditional pick on top. But still you say lehtera is more of a spectator than player now and he makes 4.7 mill for 2 more years. Don't think I was wrong calling that a cap dump. So a dump, 27th overall and most likely another 20-30 pick. Just saying Blues haven't solved their center issue with that deal and it's good to hope one of those kids you've mentioned is that solution but the rest of the team is good now but will get walked over matching up down the middle in the west.

Not even just he west, I could argue 90% of teams in the league have a better center than the Blues best, and maybe a third of the teams have 2 better.

Jim I think your analysis is a little off. As we have played dallas, Pittsburg and new York who have two good centers on each team. Blues may not have the great centers some of these teams have but they make up for it with (so far) great goaltending and great defense. (Petro, parayko, jaybo, soon to be Dunn walman) on top of that we have Steen fabbri Bergland and jaybo currently out.

I get you don't think this team is going to amount to much no one does, but I'm use to that access mentioned every year. Yet they keep finding a way don't they. ( enter the out by second round shtick)

In closing with statsny and schenn on center for my top 9 and barbashev, sundqvist on the third till Bergland and Steen are back I'm content. It seems to be working 4-0.

I didn't say they can't match up against good teams from October 4th-October 15th lol if you think starting a season 4-0 and beating Pittsburgh and NYR in week 1 is the same as going 4-7 games in 10 days against the hawks, ducks or oilers in April or may then my analysis of you as a fan was dead on. Saying Blues are good because they won 4 to start the year is back to saying they found their center because schenn had 4 points in 3 games.

Jim what I am saying is we played three really good teams to start out and we are defiantly not at our best we are short 2 top six forwards (fabbri, steen) a top 9 center ( Bergland) and atop pairing dman. Yet we played very well against three teams who had their entire team. Once again you put words in my mouth Jim. I think the blues have room for improvement when the team is healthy. My point is blues have improved by adding scene in the middle. For you to right off the blues come April and may would be like saying the blues wouldn't go 5 against the wild. Oh wait they did beat the wild pretty badly. Then put up one he'll of a fight against nashville. But once again all I said is blues are stronger. 4 games don't mean anything so we will discuss this again in about 20+ more games.

I'm not arguing blues aren't good. I'm saying first few weeks mean nothing so saying we will see in 20 games is exactly what I was saying all along. Pens got lit up for 10 in a game. Not going to be that way. Pens were missing a top 6 forward when they played the blues that game, Dallas started kari the siv lehtonen instead of bishop against the blues. Lots of factors. Give it a few weeks.
