Aside from jonny gaudreau the flames have zero talent on their wing. jvr being one of the top 8 left wingers in the game, he alone should bring back something along the lines of a prospect and 1st or 2nd rounder. i can respect the flames not wanting to part with tkachuk, but i can't see the leafs jumping up and down over this one either.

I don't know if he's Better right now. But he's a pain in the ass on the ice and has a ton of untapped potential plus the age/ contract scenario makes him worth more than JVR hands down. Teams will trade top prospects for help now from guys in their prime like JVR, but tkachuk is already making a big impact in the NHL, not just a prospect anymore.

JVR is good but definitely not top 8 wingers in the league let alone the world lmfao. Maybe top 40 or 50 but definitely not top 8.

Ovechkin, kessel, mariner, stone, Hoffman, kucherov, Gaudreau, huberdeau, voracek, palat, landeskog, benn, radulov, Schwartz, taresenko, paternak, laine, oshie, and marchand all out rank jvr, and that's just off the top of my head lol.

LW in the league is weak. Always has been weaker than RW. Given JVRs last 4 years, he's easily a top 10 LW option in the league.
